This document summarizes the work of Mediacciones Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, an interdisciplinary research group that studies new media and social practices using ethnographic methods. The group takes social construction and practice-based approaches to analyze how technologies like the internet, digital cameras, and mobile phones are incorporated into everyday life and shape identity and social relationships. Current research projects examine visual culture, blogging, digital photography, and the presentation of self online. The group also organizes seminars and has published papers on virtual ethnography and the role of the body in multicultural contexts.
