Costa Rica is a country that it is growing in issues related with
tourism, industry, and globalization.



Education authorities are trying to implement new ways of
meaningful learning.



Students must acknowledge the best of the language to achieve
their highest potential in English.



However the way of assessment is not according with big groups .



Teachers ask for new policies where the students can participate in
their own assessment .

To propose a methodological strategy
for continuous evaluation of cognitive
progress from a perspective of
meaningful learning.
 To

determine the meaningful learning
methodology, that teacher use for continuous
assessment.
 To establish theoretical strategies that allows the
implementation of a meaningful learning
assessment for a cognitive process .
 To design and develop a strategy that enhance
the use of cognitive assessment and continuous
progress.
 Evaluation

system in our country faces a
lot of problems because of traditional
strategies are out of date.

How to design a strategy to promote the use of a
meaningful learning and continuous assessment ?

In which way the technological scientific revolution
affects nowadays evaluation to teachers and students?

that includes students in their own assessment?

Procedure:
Classroom observation.
Survey and questionnaire for the students and teachers.


Through the observations in class, the researcher
determined the ways in which teachers apply the
assessment.

Pre-systematic Stage
Good atmosphere and good relationship between the teacher and
students.
Evaluation process is applied as Ministry of Education determined


The data from the student survey were analyzed in order
to determine the students’ attitudes regarding progress
evaluation and material used by the teachers.

Students chose participate in the learning and evaluation process.
Students preferences in supporting material to learn English.
Teachers and Students do not want just make an exam to prove their
knowledge .

other materials .

Access to virtual libraries: making it easy to scan
thousands of documents.
Existence of virtual stores, which provide drugs through its website.
Access to pornography: Internet not only an send messages effective method, but also an enabling
environment for virtual crime.
Rise of terrorism: terrorist organizations have used all the tools of the Internet to recruit supporters,
raise funds and launch a global intimidation.

There are still, many challenges in the evaluation process specially in
our system.



Students need to have confidence that their teacher will instruct
them.







Teachers want to develop learning processes that encourage
students, in terms of construction and significant assimilation.
Students will learn what is necessary, using teaching strategies
to enhance these aspects, there is no doubt that students are
tired of the traditional ways used by teachers.
Regarding how to teach and assess learning will be a facilitator to
achieve the target language.






. A key recommendation of this research is that it is
clear that teachers are responsible for creating
spaces and evaluation alternatives during the
educational process.
Teaching and learning assessment, presenting
alternatives to develop different lessons would be
easier to confront in everyday practice.
Also, it is important to reflect on our practice and
remember those classes that we did not like during
the stage of the college or university to try to not play
the same role with our students.

CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT PROPOSAL AND IMPLEMENTATION IN OPEN EDUCATION PROJECT

  • 2.  Costa Rica is a country that it is growing in issues related with tourism, industry, and globalization.  Education authorities are trying to implement new ways of meaningful learning.  Students must acknowledge the best of the language to achieve their highest potential in English.  However the way of assessment is not according with big groups .  Teachers ask for new policies where the students can participate in their own assessment . .
  • 3. To propose a methodological strategy for continuous evaluation of cognitive progress from a perspective of meaningful learning.
  • 4.  To determine the meaningful learning methodology, that teacher use for continuous assessment.  To establish theoretical strategies that allows the implementation of a meaningful learning assessment for a cognitive process .  To design and develop a strategy that enhance the use of cognitive assessment and continuous progress.
  • 5.  Evaluation system in our country faces a lot of problems because of traditional strategies are out of date.  Evaluation process is not significant for students.  Teachers and students must be involve in their assessment.
  • 6.  How to design a strategy to promote the use of a meaningful learning and continuous assessment ?  In which way the technological scientific revolution affects nowadays evaluation to teachers and students?  How teachers could apply a new strategy of evaluation that includes students in their own assessment?

  • 8.  Setting: Open Education Project in San Rafael Alajuela. Julia Fernandez School. Eliezer Salazar. Principal of the project. Seventh grade group. Teacher Adriana Vasquez, English teacher.  Procedure: Classroom observation. Survey and questionnaire for the students and teachers.
  • 9.  Through the observations in class, the researcher determined the ways in which teachers apply the assessment. Pre-systematic Stage Good atmosphere and good relationship between the teacher and students. Evaluation process is applied as Ministry of Education determined  The data from the student survey were analyzed in order to determine the students’ attitudes regarding progress evaluation and material used by the teachers. Students chose participate in the learning and evaluation process. Students preferences in supporting material to learn English. Teachers and Students do not want just make an exam to prove their knowledge .

Rise of terrorism: terrorist organizations have used all the tools of the Internet to recruit supporters, raise funds and launch a global intimidation.

  • 20.  There are still, many challenges in the evaluation process specially in our system.  Students need to have confidence that their teacher will instruct them.    Teachers want to develop learning processes that encourage students, in terms of construction and significant assimilation. Students will learn what is necessary, using teaching strategies to enhance these aspects, there is no doubt that students are tired of the traditional ways used by teachers. Regarding how to teach and assess learning will be a facilitator to achieve the target language.
  • 21.    . A key recommendation of this research is that it is clear that teachers are responsible for creating spaces and evaluation alternatives during the educational process. Teaching and learning assessment, presenting alternatives to develop different lessons would be easier to confront in everyday practice. Also, it is important to reflect on our practice and remember those classes that we did not like during the stage of the college or university to try to not play the same role with our students.
