leaders and supervisors of the enlisted corps.

of responsibility. They can be instructors, military
police, weather forecasters and paralegals.

member. They also receive more in housing
allowances and are eligible to live in a larger home if
they live on base.

7. Determining U.S. Marines
Careers With The ASVAB
• The first four sections of the ASVAB are called the Armed
Forces Qualifying Test.
• If you’re looking to become a Marine, you will need to
score at least a 32 on the AFQT with a high school
diploma.
• If you have a GED instead of a diploma, you’ll need a 50.
• While the AFQT helps determine if you can be a Marine,
the ASVAB determines what career you can go into.
8. The Officer

• Officers can work on the ground, in the air or in the legal
profession.
• Ground officers can have careers as a field artillery officer,
public affairs officer, signals intelligence officer or an
amphibious assault vehicle officer.
• Aviation officers can be a pilot, supervise a maintenance
crews or be an air traffic control officer.
• Officers can also be lawyers, but not medical professionals.
The officer Marines jobs list doesn’t
include medical personnel.
