Notas del editor
The most recognizable symptom of malaria is a very high fever, accompanied by fatigue, shakes, chills, and nausea. If treatment is sought with the first 24 hours after symptoms appear, malaria can more successfully be treated. When the symptoms progress– or when a case is particularly severe– malaria can often lead to death. The strain of malaria found most commonly in sub-Saharan Africa (plasmodium falciparum) is the most deadly. Malaria is a killer disease.
