3. • Queen Elizabeth II is the Queen of United Kingdom. She was born
on 21 April 1926. She was born in London as the first child of the
Duke and Duchess of York, later King George VI and Queen
Elizabeth, and she was educated privately at home.
4. • Elizabeth was born at 02:40 on 21 April 1926, during the reign of
her paternal grandfather, King George V. Her father, the Duke of
York (later King George VI), was the second son of the King. Her
mother, the Duchess of York (later Queen Elizabeth The Queen
Mother), was the youngest daughter of Scottish aristocrat the Earl
of Strathmore and Kinghorne. She was delivered by Caesarean
section at her maternal grandfather's London house.
5. • Queen Elizabeth is best known for her moral support to the British people
during WWII. With the outbreak of World War II in 1939, Elizabeth and her
sister Princess Margaret largely stayed out of London, having been
relocated to Windsor Castle . From there she made the first of her famous
radio broadcasts, with this particular speech reassuring the children of
Britain who had been evacuated from their homes and families. The 14-
year-old princess, showing her calm and firm personality, told them "that
in the end, all will be well; for God will care for us and give us victory and
peace."
6. • Queen Elizabeth II is the longest reigning monarch in British history. Known for her
efforts to modernize the institution of monarchy (and for her love of
corgis), Elizabeth has ruled for more than 60 years and celebrated her Diamond
Jubilee in 2012.
• When Britain entered the 2nd World War , Queen Elizabeth II (who was just 14 years
old) showed moral support to the Britain Army and to the children who were
evacuated from London.
• This moral support encouraged and enlightened many soldiers in the battlefield. She
was the one who united Britain even during the hardest of times.
7. When Queen Elizabeth II was asked to evacuate the palace and shift to a safer
place, Her Mother refused to evacuate and stated , “The children won't go without
me. I won't leave without the King ; And the King will never leave.”
This shows the Royal Family’s support and loyalty towards the kingdom , and it’s
safety.
