Scalability Takes On New Meaning
Virtualization technology enables organizations to rapidly configure new systems as workload requirements change. But the newly found agility stemming from such 'elastic infrastructure' demands new levels of scale and performance as servers that once took weeks to deploy, now materialize in seconds. Just look at the growth expectations for virtual versus physical servers below. In terms of data protection, 'scale' no longer means how many terabytes of data, but must account for how many virtual machines can effectively and efficiently be protected.
