Personalización de wss temas
1. Personalización de Windows SharePoint Services:Temas Expositora: Vielka Rojas, vkrojas@hotmail.com Comunidad SharePoint Costa Rica http://ug.culminis.com/sites/CRC-SPS/default.aspx

First lets look at a theme vs. a master page. A theme allows you to change the CSS style properties used in a site. You can’t change the style names themselves, but you can change the properties, or declarations, used in the style thus affecting the look and feel. For example you can change the link color from blue to red, but not change the class name or ID that is used for the link.Theme will also allow you to change the images used in the site without referencing the image in the code or CSS style. Create new images with the same name as the existing one, and the theme will replace the image for you. An important thing to note is that a theme is a vehicle for site design changes. At the core of it, you are still just modifying CSS and images, the theme packaged it up and is used for deployment. Themes are stored on the web server, which means they are available to all of the sites in your farm. So themes are like taking the SharePoint house and giving it a fresh coat of paint and replacing all of the pictures on the walls. (CLICK) Master pages take the concept of themes to the next level. You have complete control over the site design, you can move or hide elements and add your own code.As for CSS, you can link to a CSS file where you can edit and create your own styles. A master page will not swap out images like a theme, but since you have control over the code, you can specify your own images instead.Master pages can be stored in the web server and added into the content database, or they can just be stored in the content database. Master pages work with content pages to create the rendered web page. The master provides the common site design elements, and the content page, provides the content. With a master page you are going to take that house and add a new addition for the baby and a new media room for Dad.
