Introduction
 Nowadays, entrepreneurship is playing very vital role in
uplifting the economies of developing countries.
Entrepreneurship is driving force of modern economies and it
plays a vital role in country economic development. According to
Ali et al. (2011), the world is viewing entrepreneurship as a tool
of sustainable development.
 Entrepreneurship has not only played significant role in the
success of developed countries but it has also been highly
influential in the development of emerging economies.
Entrepreneurial orientation means all those practices, processes
and decision-making activities adopted by entrepreneurs to act
entrepreneurially that carries one into initiation of an
entrepreneurial firm (Lumpkin et al.,1996).
 The economic, social, religious, cultural, and psychological
factors affect origination and success of women entrepreneurs
(Habib, Roni, & Haque, 2005). The reasons and motivations for
starting business or economic activities by the women are
enormous.
Women Entrepreneurs
Women have been successful in breaking their confinement within
the limits of their homes by entering into varied kinds of
professionals and services women entrepreneurs have proved to be
on par with their men counterparts in business acumen and are
emerging as smart and dynamic entrepreneurs.
There are many reasons for women to enter into entrepreneurial
ventures in a predominantly society.
Entrepreneurship among women is an important avenue through
which women can overcome their subordination within the family
and the family and the society as a whole.
REVIEW OF LITERATURE
Asad Javed, et al. (2018) discovered that psychological
factors affect entrepreneurial orientation and non-psychological
factors moderate this relationship.
Gilbert Kimutai Arap Bor (2018) revealed that
entrepreneurial innovativeness, risk taking and proactiveness
have a direct positive relationship with performance of SMEs.
Prabin Raj Gautam (2016) found that dimensions of EO
such as autonomy, risk-taking, and pro-activeness and
competitive aggressiveness were positively correlated with
business performance. However, innovativeness had no
correlation with business performance of handicraft enterprises
in Nepal.
CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
• To assess the entrepreneurial orientation among women
entrepreneurs in Cuddalore district.
• To identify the influence of motivational factors on entrepreneurial
orientation among women entrepreneurs.
• To identify the influence of entrepreneurial orientation on
performance of women entrepreneurs.
• To develop the model that represents that impact of motivational
factors on entrepreneurial orientation among women
entrepreneurs.
HYPOTHESES OF THE STUDY
• There is no significant difference towards entrepreneurial
orientation with respect to demographic profile.
• There is no influence of motivational factors on entrepreneurial
orientation among women entrepreneurs.
• There is no influence of entrepreneurial orientation on
performance of women entrepreneurs.
• There is no influence of motivational factors on performance of
women entrepreneurs with respect to entrepreneurial orientation.

Women Entrepreneurs Women have been successful in breaking their confinement within the limits of their homes by entering into varied kinds of professionals and services women entrepreneurs have proved to be on par with their men counterparts in business acumen and are emerging as smart and dynamic entrepreneurs. There are many reasons for women to enter into entrepreneurial ventures in a predominantly society. Entrepreneurship among women is an important avenue through which women can overcome their subordination within the family and the family and the society as a whole.
  • 4. REVIEW OF LITERATURE Asad Javed, et al. (2018) discovered that psychological factors affect entrepreneurial orientation and non-psychological factors moderate this relationship. Gilbert Kimutai Arap Bor (2018) revealed that entrepreneurial innovativeness, risk taking and proactiveness have a direct positive relationship with performance of SMEs. Prabin Raj Gautam (2016) found that dimensions of EO such as autonomy, risk-taking, and pro-activeness and competitive aggressiveness were positively correlated with business performance. However, innovativeness had no correlation with business performance of handicraft enterprises in Nepal.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY • To assess the entrepreneurial orientation among women entrepreneurs in Cuddalore district. • To identify the influence of motivational factors on entrepreneurial orientation among women entrepreneurs. • To identify the influence of entrepreneurial orientation on performance of women entrepreneurs. • To develop the model that represents that impact of motivational factors on entrepreneurial orientation among women entrepreneurs.

HYPOTHESES OF THE STUDY • There is no significant difference towards entrepreneurial orientation with respect to demographic profile. • There is no influence of motivational factors on entrepreneurial orientation among women entrepreneurs. • There is no influence of entrepreneurial orientation on performance of women entrepreneurs. • There is no influence of motivational factors on performance of women entrepreneurs with respect to entrepreneurial orientation.
