2. After a 12-year stint, R Ramakrishnan, Bajaj
Electricals' executive director, will leave the
company on March 1 "to explore alternative
professional opportunities", the company
said on Monday.
3. Recognised as the face of Bajaj
Electricals, Ramakrishnan joined the
company as president in November 1999
after a stint of 17 years at Asian Paints. He
was promoted as president and COO in
2002, and subsequently inducted on the
company's board as an executive director in
October 2006.
4. Ramakrishnan has been credited with several
achievements and numerous international tie-
ups like Morphy Richards of UK, Trilux of
Germany, Securiton of Switzerland, Disano of
Italy, and Ruud Lighting of USA.
Shekhar Bajaj, chairman and managing director
of Bajaj Electricals, said, “I appreciate the
contributions made by Ramakrishnan over the
last 12 years. His dynamism has significantly
enhanced the growth of the top and bottom line
of the company."
5. “My stint at Bajaj Electricals is filled with
significant achievements and successes,"
said Ramakrishnan, a post graduate in
Business Management from
XLRI, Jamshedpur. "I look at myself
essentially as an institution builder and would
now like to pursue other value creation and
organisation building opportunities.”
6. Bajaj Electricals reported a 19% drop in net
profit for the fiscal third quarter at R32.84
crore as earnings from its engineering and
projects division fell sharply.
However, company's revenues rose 15% to
R793.64 crore from R689.51 crore in the
same quarter of the previous year.
