Science
• The intellectual and practical activity
encompassing the systematic study of the
structure and behavior of the physical and natural
world through observation and experiment
The world science and technology can and often
are used interchangeably. But the goal of science is
the pursuit of knowledge for its own sake while the
goal of technology is to create products that solve
problems and improve human life. Simply put,
technology is the practical application of science.
Science vs. Technology
The Most Important Application of Science
It is valued by society because the application of scientific
knowledge helps to satisfy many basic human needs and
improve living standards. Finding a cure for cancer and a
clean form of energy are just two topical examples.
What is the importance of Science and
Technology in our lives?
Technology, knowledge and science are
fundamental in modern contemporary society. The
understanding of how social, cultural and material
elements influence the production of new
practices, new ways of understanding and new
institutions is vital in our understanding of
contemporary postmodern society.
Why do we need to study Science?
It develops an understanding of the world, built on
current scientific theories. It involves particular
processes and ways of developing and organizing
knowledge and that these continue to evolve.
Scientific knowledge and skills are used for problem
solving and developing further knowledge.
What are the application of Science?
An application of science is any use of scientific
knowledge for a specific purpose, whether to do more
science, to design a product, process, or medical
treatment; to develop a new technology; or to predict
the impacts of human actions.
What is the role of Science in our society?
It has a specific role, as well as a variety of functions for
the benefit of our society: creating new knowledge,
improving education, and increasing the quality of our
lives, Science must respond to societal needs and global
challenges.
What Science cannot study?
A non-science is an area of study that is not scientific,
especially one that is not a natural science or a social
science that is an object of scientific inquiry. In this
model, history, art, and religion are all examples of non-
sciences.
Why science education is important in the 21st
century?
Exemplary science education can offer rich context for
developing many 21st century skills such as critical
thinking, problem solving, and information literacy
especially when instruction addresses the nature of
science and promotes use of science practices.
What is Applied Science example?
Applied Science is a discipline that is used to apply
existing scientific knowledge to develop more practical
applications, for example: technology or inventions.
Medical sciences such as Medical Microbiology are
examples of Applied Sciences.
How Science improve our life?
Science and Technology have had a major impact on
society, and their impact is growing. By making life easier,
science has given man the chance to pursue societal
concerns such as ethics, aesthetics, education, and
justice; to create cultures; and to improve human
conditions.
Why do we use science?
Perhaps the most important role of science is to sustain
that sense of awe and wonder in young people that
comes from exploring and understanding the natural and
technological world. Because science can make a unique
difference in a child’s life, it is important for it to be a
central part of the school curriculum.
What is science today?
Curriculum Tools: Today’s Science provides activities,
assignments, and research tools that help students speak-
and educators teach-about science, including : Tips for
students on analyzing editorial cartoons and primary
sources, evaluating online sources, avoiding plagiarism,
writing research papers, and more.
Why are 21st century skills important?
These 21st century skills are more important to
students now than before. They not only provide a
framework for a successful learning in the
classroom, but ensure students can thrive in a
world where change is constant and learning never
stops. And they are also tremendously important
for our nation’s well being.

  • 2. Science • The intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment
  • 3. The world science and technology can and often are used interchangeably. But the goal of science is the pursuit of knowledge for its own sake while the goal of technology is to create products that solve problems and improve human life. Simply put, technology is the practical application of science. Science vs. Technology
  • 4. The Most Important Application of Science It is valued by society because the application of scientific knowledge helps to satisfy many basic human needs and improve living standards. Finding a cure for cancer and a clean form of energy are just two topical examples.
  • 5. What is the importance of Science and Technology in our lives? Technology, knowledge and science are fundamental in modern contemporary society. The understanding of how social, cultural and material elements influence the production of new practices, new ways of understanding and new institutions is vital in our understanding of contemporary postmodern society.
  • 6. Why do we need to study Science? It develops an understanding of the world, built on current scientific theories. It involves particular processes and ways of developing and organizing knowledge and that these continue to evolve. Scientific knowledge and skills are used for problem solving and developing further knowledge.
  • 7. What are the application of Science? An application of science is any use of scientific knowledge for a specific purpose, whether to do more science, to design a product, process, or medical treatment; to develop a new technology; or to predict the impacts of human actions.
  • 8. What is the role of Science in our society? It has a specific role, as well as a variety of functions for the benefit of our society: creating new knowledge, improving education, and increasing the quality of our lives, Science must respond to societal needs and global challenges.
  • 9. What Science cannot study? A non-science is an area of study that is not scientific, especially one that is not a natural science or a social science that is an object of scientific inquiry. In this model, history, art, and religion are all examples of non- sciences.
  • 10. Why science education is important in the 21st century? Exemplary science education can offer rich context for developing many 21st century skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, and information literacy especially when instruction addresses the nature of science and promotes use of science practices.
  • 11. What is Applied Science example? Applied Science is a discipline that is used to apply existing scientific knowledge to develop more practical applications, for example: technology or inventions. Medical sciences such as Medical Microbiology are examples of Applied Sciences.
  • 12. How Science improve our life? Science and Technology have had a major impact on society, and their impact is growing. By making life easier, science has given man the chance to pursue societal concerns such as ethics, aesthetics, education, and justice; to create cultures; and to improve human conditions.

  • 14. What is science today? Curriculum Tools: Today’s Science provides activities, assignments, and research tools that help students speak- and educators teach-about science, including : Tips for students on analyzing editorial cartoons and primary sources, evaluating online sources, avoiding plagiarism, writing research papers, and more.
  • 15. Why are 21st century skills important? These 21st century skills are more important to students now than before. They not only provide a framework for a successful learning in the classroom, but ensure students can thrive in a world where change is constant and learning never stops. And they are also tremendously important for our nation’s well being.
