Today’s Message
A MEMORIAL
―As often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s
death till He comes.‖ (1 Corinthians 11:26)
T he Taj Mahal in India is a magnificent mausoleum. Built entirely of white marble, it
was commissioned by the Emperor Shah Jehan in memory of his wife, who died
suddenly. It took 22 years to complete. Millions of tourists visit this memorial annually in
order to see this grand structure the emperor ordered to be built in memory of the woman
he loved.
Millions of people also throng to Jerusalem to look at another site—a tomb that some
say may have been where Jesus was buried. No matter what tomb He lay in, Jesus
occupied it for only a few days. It has been empty for 2,000 years.
Jesus does not need us to build a memorial to Him. Instead, He gave us the Lord’s
Supper (communion) as a memorial to remember Him. On the night He was betrayed,
Jesus took bread and the cup and gave thanks to His Father before offering them to His
disciples (Luke 22:14-21). Each time we partake of those elements in church, we are first to

2. examine our relationship and ourselves with God (1 Cor 11:28). ―As often as [we] eat this
bread and drink this cup‖ we are to do so in remembrance of the One we love, until He
comes (1 Cor 25-26).
I’ll take the bread and cup, dear Lord,
That speak of love sublime,
And give myself afresh to Thee.
My life, my all is Thine!
The Lord’s Supper—Christ’s memorial that
He left for us.
To begin our prayer time together, we ask you to repeat this prayer with us each day...
“O gracious and heavenly Father, in name of Jesus Christ I pray for Pastor Avinash
and Rajiv and every member of their families and the entire staff of Well Fortified
Intercessors Army and Living God Group and their families. Lord keeps them safe
from all the evil powers and no harm should come to them and every one who are
working in the ministry. Lord Jesus guides each step and shows the right path on
which they will take. Dear Father God you have called them to do your will. Protect
them and guide them in whatever they do. I pray shower your blessings on them so
that they will be able to fulfill the work of our Lord Jesus Christ. Father God give
them strength and power and health. My heavenly Father keeps them away from all
kinds of dangers and gives them shelter under your wings. In the name of the Lord
Jesus Christ, I command a hedge of protection to be around their home and property
today and I ask that warrior angels sent by the you true Father God would be placed
to stand guard at any holes that might be in that hedge. I place the full armors of God
on them, and I ask that the light of the Lord Jesus shine through them this day. In
the name of Jesus I ask-Amen”
Pray specifically today for people you know who need to know the saving and healing
power of Jesus Christ in their lives. Many people are suffering – spiritually, emotionally, and
physically – let us stand before our Mighty God today on their behalf!

have called them to do.‖

Summer Health Tips for Kids: How to
Stay Safe in the Summer

W ith kids out of school, eating habits can get thrown off track, and with the heat
food poisoning can become prevalent, yet there are ways to stay safe and pick
healthy food choices. Have family meals, filled with healthy options and be a good
example by eating healthy yourself. Involve kids in the cooking process, and teach them
to wash their hands before cooking and eating, clean fruits and vegetables and check
expiration dates, smell and looking at food to tell if it is good. Stock up on healthy food
choices, and limit junk food choices. Refrigerate food as soon as possible and always
heat up leftovers before eating them.
If your child will be left home alone during the summer be sure to go over these very
important rules. Kids should keep the doors and windows locked, and never answer the
door for strangers. Let a trusted neighbor or family member know that your child will be
home, so they can keep an eye out for the child, and the child will know there is someone
they can call if needed and leave them emergency numbers they might need. Set house
rules: how much television or Internet can be watched/used, kitchen appliances, etc. If
they receive calls it's important they do not let the person know they are home alone.
Lock away anything you own that might be harmful to a child: medicines, poisonous
cleaning supplies, alcohol or weapons. When kids are online tell them not to talk to
anyone they don't know, never give out personal information, remind them to never meet
anyone they met online and if anyone makes them feel uncomfortable, they should
immediately tell someone. You can also restrict websites that you believe are unsuitable
for your children.
Summer is a fun time and parents can ensure that it is a safe one as well
