4. If You Can’t Get a Miracle, Become One
Please take a moment to think about any limitations you’ve
placed on your life or that you’ve allowed others to place on it.
When Nick was born, his parents were hurt and
deepened with despair.
As Nick was growing he felt helpless, rejected and a
burden for others until he met Daniel, 18 months old.
Nick says, “I know for certain that God does
not make mistakes, but he does make
miracles. I am one. You are too.”

5. No Arms, No Legs, No Limits
At the age of 10 filled with negative thoughts, he tried to end his
own life in a bath tub.
Nick has thought that will he ever get married, have a kid and lead
a happy life
Imagine what you can dream and go for it. Expect
challenges and welcome them as character building
exercises.
Hope
• Powerful gift for overcoming every obstacles and every challenges
Dream
• As a child Nick would pray that one fine morning that God will restore his
arms and legs.

6. Full Assurance in the Heart
Faith: Substance of things hoped for, the
evidence of things not seen. It is the full
assurance in the heart that even without arms
and legs, I can build a wonderful life.
Nick quotes, Norman Vincent Peale once said, “Become a
possibilitarian. No matter how dark your life seems to be,
raise your sights and see the possibilities. Always see them,
for they are always there.”
Nick says, “I encourage you to accept that you may not be able to see a path
right now, but that doesn’t mean it’s not there. Have faith, your story is still
waiting to unfold, and I know it will be incredible!”

7. Love the Perfectly Imperfect You
Finding your purpose is the first important step to living a life
without limits.
Author Elisabeth Ross said,
“They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when darkness sets in
their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.”
Self acceptance: When he was 7 years old, he went home
after one particularly cruel day of rejection and
disappointment; spent hours staring into my mirror.
No arms, no legs, no worries.
Nick tells, “I love you just as you are. You are
beautiful to me.,Celebrate Your uniqueness ”

8. Attitude Is Altitude
• William James, who taught at Harvard University, said that one
of the greatest
discoveries of his generation was the realization that by changing
our attitudes, we can change our lives.
Negative:
I will never get over this.
I can’t take this anymore
Positive:
This too will pass.
I got this far, better days
are ahead.
An attitude of gratitude
Attitudes
An attitude of action
An attitude of empathy
An attitude of forgiveness

9. Armless But Not Harmless
No arms, no legs, no fear
Fight with Chuky during his school days, was
because of his childish fears.
Psychologists say most fears are learned. We are born
with only 2 instinctive fears: fear of loud noises and fear
of being dropped.
What if I fail?
What if I’m not good enough?
What if they laugh at me?
What if I’m turned down?
What if I can’t keep up with my successes?

10. Don’t Let Your Face Plant Grow Roots
• Nick’s formula for success, “Fall seven times, stand up eight”.
About his friend David who wanted to start a golf course.
Success may not come without pain
Do your best, God will do the rest!
• Four valuable lessons failure gives us:
1. It is a great teacher
2. It builds character
3. It motivates you
4. It helps to appreciate

11. The New Bloke in the Bushes
There are 2 types of changes,
We can’t control the first, but we can and should
control the second.
When 12 years old, Nick and his family moves to California,
United States.
Nick encourages us to embrace
change
that elevates our life
1. Change that happens to us
2. Change that happens within us

12. Trust Others, More or Less
Building a relationship is like building a savings account; you can’t expect to take
anything out of it if you haven’t put something into it.
“People skills” is a widely used term but is rarely well defined. We all like to think
we have great people skills
Primary people skills include the ability to:
• Read emotions and moods
• Listening to understand
• Assess, comprehend, and react to nonverbal
signals from others
• Navigate any social setting or gathering
• Bond quickly with others
• Turn on the charm in any situation
• Practice tact and self-control
• Demonstrate care for others with actions
Two is always better than one. If one falls, his friend can help him up.

13. An Equal Opportunity Hugger
o Nick says that the body God gave him is in many ways a great and wondrous gift.
Can you acknowledge that your own blessings may also be in disguise?
o For every opportunity that comes your way, write down the pros and cons and
evaluate how each measures up to the values, principles, and goals you’ve
chosen for your life. Then try to envision what will happen if you walk through the
door, and what will happen if you close it instead.
Albert Einstein said that in the
middle of every difficulty lies
opportunity

14. The Ridiculous Rules
Nick’s favorite quote: “Imperfection is beauty, madness
is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous
than absolutely boring.”
“Someday” mentality
Someday I’ll have all the money I need so I can enjoy life.
Someday I’ll be able to spend more time with my family.
Someday I’ll have time to relax and do what I love doing.
Two ridiculous rules:
Ridiculous Risk
(Danger of trying/danger of not trying)
Ridiculous Fun
(good feeling comes when work and play become one)

15. Chapter 12: Make Giving Your Mission
You shouldn’t expect beneficial from being generous or supportive to others,
but good deeds can lead to surprising rewards.
So if you don’t have a friend, be a friend.
If you are having a bad day, make someone else’s day.
If your feelings are hurt, heal those of another.
After the terrible earthquake in Haiti in
2010, the American Red Cross quickly set
up a program for people to help right away.
They made it possible to donate 10 dollars
by taking a cell phone and texting “HAITI”
to the number 90999.

16. Conclusion
Living without limits means knowing that you always
have something to give, something that might ease the
burden of others. Even small kindnesses and a few
dollars can have a powerful impact.
Hope it is CLEAR
(Courage, Leadership, Excellence, Attitude and Respect)
