This is a general overview of how this presentation will flow. We will begin with an explanation of social media. Then we will continue on into a brief history of it . After that we will show you how it fits your needs. Then offer you insights into what social media has to offer your company.
Social Media is the process of communicating with others via the world wide web. The following list shows The most widely used applications for social networking. The list above are websites that provide the tools allowing people to become social on the web.
Since its inception as a way for teens to socialize it has evolved into a business network and increased brand loyalty.Social networking usage has increased approximately 50% in the last five years. The growth of social networking among user 55 and older has increased to almost 95% in North America.World wide it has grown to almost 65% and continues to rise daily.Since its inception social media has grown to become the #1 reason people access the web (Buffer).Social Networking accounts for 20% of time spent online (Buffer).82 percent of the world’s online population, representing 1.2 billion users around the world are reached via social networking (Buffer) .30% more women actively interact with social networks than men (Buffer).
The amount of users varies between each social media service and most users probably use more than one service. The power of social networking being used everyday has increased exponentially and will continue to draw more and more people into the world of interactive socialization through the world wide web.As of today only 23% of the business community are tapping into the power of Facebook (Buffer).70% of Consumers Trust Brand Recommendations From Friends (Buffer).
Conventional thinking by a corporate executive may be that “With the power of the internet my one dissatisfied customer has the ability to tell hundreds now with social media.” So they do not look to this as a positive process in advertising and dealing with the public. Rather they should feel relieved that they can witness the dissatisfaction first hand and handle it with the proper integrity and grace it deserves from the get go.
The power of social networking form this day forward allows everyone to succeed in business. You may not become a top 100 Forbes company but I would be happy with making it to the top 500 web businesses.
