Profile
Currently a freelance designer working fulltime for PlayStation Technical Support with an Honours
Degree in Digital Media and a Higher National Diploma in Illustration and Visual Communications. My skill
strengths are focused in graphic design, 2D and 3D illustration, including 2D to 3D conversion, motion
graphics and animation.
Education
2011 – 2013 - Bachelor of Science with Honours in Digital Media at Edinburgh Napier University.
2009 – 2011 - HNC / HND in Graphic Design and Illustration at Borders College.
Focusing on graphic design and traditional illustration. Learning about art styles, genres and its
history, colour theory, typography and visual layout along with basic skills in traditional illustration,
focusing mainly on pencil sketching and water color painting as media of exploration.
Obtaining knowledge in regards to the theoretical and practical implementation of motion graphics,
graphic design, product design, 3D illustration, 2D illustration and animation using a variety of
software programs. Skills used in the creative industries.
Relevant Experience
North Edinburgh and Inverleith Connections Directory - Creating an advertisement for Taylors
Physiotherapy and an editorial page for MacKenzies Restaurant.
The Picture House - Creating a 12 days of Christmas giveaway advertising campaign online which
included one main advertisement and several individual advertisements for each giveaway in the
campaign.
- Flyer and poster designs for events hosted by the Picture House including the final Get Together
event featuring The Winter Tradition.

Having worked for hotels and call centers although not visually stimulating or creatively challenging,
it did give useful experience in people interaction, etiquette and customer service.
I was also involved in The Picture House Edinburgh’s public relations team where I had the
opportunity to be involved in designing marketing material for them.
At PlayStation Technical Support where I am currently employed I have learned to constantly
adapt myself to new technical procedures and the advancement of PlayStation’s technology.
Working for PlayStation has also kept me in touch with the gaming industry and the current
standard of quality game developers are able to produce games.
Achievement
Edinburgh Napier University School of Computing awarded me with the Runner - Up 2nd place prize
for the best honours project poster and presentation on the 17th of April 2013. An event where all
creative computing 4th year students had to present their honours projects to lecturers, fellow
students, general members of the public and members of the creative industries.
Interests
Making something out of nothing is for me one of the most satisfying experiences and I find a great
amount of fulfillment in making 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional digital illustrations in my free time.
Especially coming up with my own designs due to the creative challenge it provides and the feeling of
accomplishment when executed successfully.
I also enjoy watching films mostly set in a past, future and / or fictional setting and looking at it
stylistically in terms of the way materials and even colour is used to accompany a specific genre,
along with objects for instance vehicle, architecture and fashion design amongst many other items,
devices and instruments as it helps stimulate my creativity. I have a keen interest for observing sci fi
and fantasy creations not only in films but in video games and graphic novels as well.
I am particularly interested in mechanical and hard surface designs, especially vehicles, suits and
helmets.
