The Innovation Pathway covers the entire innovation life cycle from idea conception through to the eventual realisation of commercial success. Originally developed by North East and North Cumbria (NENC) AHSN it has now been adopted by all AHSNs to support NHS providers, CCGs and SMEs with the development and commercialisation of their innovative ideas. New ideas can originate from many sources, including innovators in industry, academics within universities and healthcare professionals. However, the uptake of new ideas can often be impeded by the lack of a clear pathway and effective support to take these new ideas to market. The Innovation Pathway has been created to support the development and commercialisation of innovation from any source.
