1. Network with other Germans
n With monthly business meetings, we offer a variety of
activities that not only allow our members to meet with and
intensify business relationships with each other, but also
others outside the Association.
n Basic Membership is $280 + GST a year – Entrepreneurs, self-
employed, German-speaking or someone who sells German
products/services are welcome
2. Student Memberships are now
n This gives College & University students the opportunity to
meet potential mentors, get used to professional networking
events and to volunteer to build their portfolio. Older
members benefit by having energetic, active members that
are often experts in newer medias and who can offer their
consulting services to those less familiar with technology.
n Student Membership is $50 + GST a year. Must be a full-time
student who speaks German.
3. Corporate Memberships are
n As business owners and companies get to know one another,
they can find a way to share resources, unite on important
issues and create an atmosphere that encourages
competition and attracts customers.
n Corporate Membership is $350 + GST a year – includes up to
4 members from one local company.
4. Associate Membership is also
n This level of membership is for anyone retired, living out-of-
town, spouse of a full business member or is just has a hobby
they would like to promote. Perfect for those people who still
want to keep their foot in the business world, but are not
n Associate Members pay $100 + GST
5.We promote cultural interests &
support German cultural events
n Vancouver has German organizations that offer events and
often members of the German Canadian Business Members
are given the opportunity to sponsor, attend or volunteer
non-profit organizations & clubs that organize German
Christmas or Easter events, helping the German Schools, the
German Canadian Care Home, festivals showcasing
Germany or just watching Germans win the World Cup etc.
6.We work together with the
German Consulate General
n The consular District of the German Consulate General
Vancouver covers British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan,
as well as the Northwest Territories andYukon.There are at
least one or two combined events, such as the BCIT event
coming up April 2018.
7.This Association is perfect for
newcomers from Germany
n Newcomers need help establishing connections, building a
list of professional vendors and/or getting to know their way
around the local political landscape.You can meet others who
have immigrated from Germany in the past and who can now
help you navigate the muddy waters of a new country. Where
can you find a good printer? Who can help you with your
marketing? How can you find a list of contractors?
8. We give you the opportunity to
promote your product/service
n Whether it is introducing yourself at a meeting, attending a
champagne reception or being a featured member on the
website, there are opportunities to introduce and/or get
referrals for your business. They will also be offering some
further opportunities on the website to market your product
or services this year.
9.We hold amazing events at a
variety of venues in Vancouver
n One Christmas Gala, two fancy dinners, three pub nights,
along with at least four other events each year, bring the
opportunities to visit Van Dusen Gardens, the Bauhaus
Restaurant, the Vancouver Alpen Club, BCIT, UBC, Mahony &
Sons,The Boathouse, the European Festival,Tag der
Deutschen Einheit, Al Porto Ristorante, Deutscher Platz, the
Sea to Sky Gondola, the Maplewood Flats, the Swan Lake
Ballet, as well as many other venues. Ideas are welcome.

How can I join or renew my
n Thank you for choosing to join or renew your German
Canadian Business Association (GCBA) membership.
n In brief, here is how the renewal process works:
n Complete the online membership form, only if any details have changed – new address or phone
number or if you are a new incoming member. It can be found here:
n Once your payment has been received, you will be entitled to take advantage of membership benefits.
You will also be included in our Membership Directory.
n Our Annual General Meeting will be held February 26, 2018 and this is for Members Only – meaning
you will now be welcome to attend and participate in our Agenda.
