Features and Nature of Indian Poetry
Indian poetry and Indian literature in general, has a long history dating
back to Vedic times. They were written in various Indian languages such as
Vedic Sanskrit, Classical Sanskrit, Oriya, Tamil, Kannada, Bengali and Urdu.
Poetry in foreign languages such as Persian and English also has a strong
influence on Indian poetry
Vedic Sanskrit is an Old Indo-Aryan language. It is an archaic form of
Sanskrit, an early descendant of Proto-Indo-Iranian.

Forms of Indian Poetry
Assamese literature- . The first known works on this language are called
“Charyapadas”

formal languages in Assam's schools, courts and offices.
