CLASSISM, a brief overview cont…
Why is it practiced? Who practices it?
• Many people are born into a class.
The rich, middle, low class all have •EVERYONE
children who either stay in their
class or move lower. They seldom
move up and during their life
  times they learn and accept
  classism.
• The upper class enjoy being in
power and thus keep the lower
  class oppressed
Examples of classism in the Middle East
• The Rich of the middle east those that are poor
  live in terrible, harsh conditions.
• When war comes about, the rich are evacuated
first, they are given a place to stay and have food
to eat (most likely a mansion) where as the lower
class must flee for their lives and live in refugee
  camps.
• Those that are rich hold more place in the
government keeping money where they want it to
  be.
• The low class must take on the more unappealing
jobs. Work with longer hours and little pay to
  survive.
• The low class are often not given justice in the
court. People go to jail for crimes they do not
commit and have harsh sentences whilst the rich
use their money and influence to leave
Examples of classism in Asia
• In Asian countries it is highly
frowned upon if one person form a
high social class to marry or date.
• People in the lower class of Asia are
often look down on with much
disdain by people in the higher class.
• Those that are rich get to go to fancy
schools and are treated much better
in public places, such as malls,
  restaurants, train stations, subways,
  and hotels.
• There are many elite “clubs” that
you must be part of the higher class
  to join.
Classism in Asia
continued System
   The Hindu Caste
• In India, the pattern of social classes is
called the caste system, in which people are
divided into separate close communities.
• There are many different theories as to
how the caste system had established, the most popular being the
Social history theory, the biological theory, and the religious theories.
• The social historical theory explains the creation of the Varnas, Jats,
  and Untouchables.
• The religious theories explain how the four Varnas were founded.
• The biological history claims all things inherent three qualities in
  different apportionments.
