Animal vs plant cells.pptx
1.
2. What is a cell?
• All living organisms on Earth are made of really tiny particles called
cells.
• Cells are the basis which makes up the structure of all living beings-
all animals and all plants.
• Cells can only be seen under a microscope.
3. What is a cell?
Cells join together to form tissues which join together to make organs,
an organic system which makes a living organism.
4.
5. Cell structure
• Cell membrane which is a thin layer of protein and fats.
• Only few substances like water can pass through it.
6. Animal cell structure
• Cytoplasm is the thing that fills up the rest of the cell.
• The other parts of the cell float around in the cytoplasm.
• It's mostly water.
7. Animal Cell structure
This is where the cell gets its energy.
In the human body, food we have digested reacts with oxygen in the
mitochondria (respiration) to make energy for the cell.
.
8. Animal Cell structure
Nucleus - The nucleus is the brains of the cell.
It instructs the rest of the cell what to do next.
9. Plant Cell
structure
• The plants cell has a cell
wall.
• This wall protects the
contents on the cell and
also limits a cell size.
• It is made up of chemicals
like cellulose
• Like a shell
10. Plant Cell structure
• Chloroplast contains the Chlorophyll,
• Chlorophyll is a dye that plants use to make food - the
process of photosynthesis.
• It absorbs sunlight to turn water and carbon dioxide into
sugar and oxygen.
11. Plant Cell structure
• Sap vacuole takes up 90% of the cell volume and it helps the
cell be swollen with water

14. Model
A model is used to describe and explain idea, object or process that
cannot be seen or felt directly.
