a written element of an alphabet that represents
a single phoneme
2. WORDS

•A sentence is a group of words that makes
  sense.
•A sentence expresses a complete thought.
•A sentence begins with a capital letter and
  ends with a symbol.

  word.
                 Example:

3. PARAGRAPH
A paragraph is a collection of
related sentences dealing with a
single topic.

The Basic Rule: Keep One Idea to
One Paragraph

The basic rule of thumb with
paragraphing is to keep one idea to

B. SUPPORTING SENTENCE

1. ALWAYS PROOF READ WHAT YOU WRITE
2. DONT BE AFRAID TO EDIT OR CHANGE

BE COHERENT
4. DONT BE AFRAID TO USE TRANSITIONAL
PHRASES
5. STAY ON ONE IDEA
EXAMPLE OF PARAGRAPH
My hometown is famous for several amazing
natural features. First, it noted for the weathon
river, which is very wide and beautiful. Also, on
the other side of the town is wheaton hill, which
is unusual because it is very steep. The third
amazing features is the Big Old Tree. This tree
stand two hundred feet tall and is probably
about six hundred years old. These three
landmarks are trully amazing and make my
hometown a famous place.
That is the end of my presentation.
   Thank you for your attention

                         nice to have been
                           with you today,
