3. INTRODUCTION
Lynch syndrome, also known as hereditary
nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC).
It is an inherited genetic disorder that increases
the risk of developing certain types of cancer,
particularly colorectal cancer (cancer of the colon
or rectum) and endometrial cancer (cancer of the
lining of the uterus).

Mutations in genes involved in DNA mismatch repair
(MMR).
The most commonly affected genes in Lynch syndrome are
MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, PMS2, and EPC.
Autosomal dominant inheritance pattern, which means
that a person with a mutation in one copy of the gene has a
50% chance of passing the mutation on to their children
