1. Proposal
My idea is partially narrative. It focuses on a man/alien who has come to an area to bring music, fun and
colour through soca music. He is also in search of a love. The video starts with the man appearing on a
road and everything is black and white. On each smash of the cymbal two of his friends will join him.
(Like in Ne-Yo’s- one in a million, when he magically appears next to the lead girl). He starts to dance,
chip and sing down the road creating colour wherever he goes. Because it would be on quite a main
road it would be good to have quite a lot of cutaways to peoples reaction, shops, products etc. At the
choruses it would be good to have a small easy to do dance so as the crowd gets slightly bigger everyone
begins to join in. Eventually he finds a girl who is sitting by herself quietly and he sings to her and dances
for her, telling her to ‘let dat riddim hit you right dey’ and eventually convinces her to join him in his
mini carnival. Then he finds his way to this carnival (nothing big) but has costumes and they all party and
loosen up. At the end of the song (when it starts to sing “ooh woah woah, ooh yeah yeah” repeatedly)
the song starts to fade and you can hear the people singing the last words of the song (which can be
done by voice recorder. The final shots are of him and the girl in love dancing together, then a costume
zoomed in then blurred as the song name appears and finally a fade to black.
