- Normal sebum flows from the sebaceous gland up the hair follicle onto the surface of the skin.
- With Acne - Follicle cells shed more rapidly and stick together in clumps - Sebum Production increases These two events combine to form what is known as a comedone or blackhead plugging the follicle.
