This document provides instructions for installing Joomla on Windows using WAMP server. It describes downloading and installing WAMP server, which includes 9 steps. It then explains installing Joomla, which involves 9 more steps: unzipping Joomla, copying it to the WAMP directory, running the installation wizard through the browser to set up the database credentials and admin user, deleting the installation folder, and logging into the admin panel. The overall process allows one to set up Joomla on their local Windows machine for testing and development purposes.

2. Download WAMP Server from

http://www.wampserver.com/en

3. Download Joomla from
 http://www.joomla.org/download
 For this demo I am using 2.5.14

On task bar click on Test Port 80

If port 80 is used by any other process, you can change port of
Apache Server

14. Installing WAMP Server (Step – 11)
Open httpd.conf file in notepad.

15. Installing WAMP Server (Step – 12)
Change the port value to desired value as shown & restart
service of Apache.

16. Installing Joomla (Step – 1)
Unzip Joomla package & copy it under “wampwwwjoomla”
directory.

17. Installing Joomla (Step – 2)
Open URL “http://localhost:8888/joomla/installation/” in web
browser. Where 8888 is apache port in this case. Select
language & click “Next”

18. Installing Joomla (Step – 3)
Review prerequisites, If ok click “Next”

19. Installing Joomla (Step – 4)
Review the license terms, If ok click “Next”

20. Installing Joomla (Step – 5)
Enter MySQL credentials & Database name.

21. Installing Joomla (Step – 6)
Enter FTP credentials or you can skip this step.

22. Installing Joomla (Step – 7)
Enter Admin User name & password along with other
necessary fields.

23. Installing Joomla (Step – 8)
Now you will be asked to delete “installation” folder.
Delete this folder located under “Joomla” directory & click on
“Administrator” button

24. Installing Joomla (Step – 9)
Enter Administrator credential to login to site.

25. Welcome to the wonderful world of “Joomla”
