What are the most frequent antisocial behavior acts in Olot? Dogs, rubbish and
graffiti.
What are the causes of these antisocial acts? Alcohol, drugs, problems at home, poor
self-esteem
Which is the average age in which these events happen? 13-18-years-old, in the
case of dogs it becomes all of ages.
What is the worst case you have ever seen? After Saint Joan’s night.
What time do these acts usually happen? At night from11-12 to 4-5.
What sanctions are imposed? It’s depends on the age of the offender and the type of
antisocial behavior.
Has antisocial behavior increased In the last years? It has reduced.
What initiatives have been made by theTownCouncil or police to try to solve this?
Divulgative and sensibilizationtalks and prevention by policemen dressed as civil men.

24. OLOT EDUCATING CITY
“The city is an educating city merely for being a city; it is the source of education in itself,
with its multiple spheres and for all its inhabitants”.
25. On 3rd February 2011 the Town Council of Olot presented the project
“Olot Ciutat Educadora”.
This is not a unique project. In 1990 the 1st International Congress of
Educating Cities took place in Barcelona. Now there are educating cities
in several countries around the world.
Objectives:
The city –and therefore the citizens, must continue the educating task,
once children have left school.
