8. Personal Learning Networks consist of the people a learner interacts with and derives knowledge from in a Personal Learning Environment… Learners create connections and develop a network that contributes to their professional development and knowledge. The learner does not have to know these people personally or ever meet them in person. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_Learning_Network

10. The Personal: ...making connections and building personal relationships with teachers, school administrators, university professors, and experts around the world. No matter where you are in the world, there’s always someone online available to answer questions, share their expertise, and simply chat about what’s happening in their lives and classrooms. http://teacherchallenge.edublogs.org/2011/06/18/pln-challenge-2-what-is-it-that-you-want-to-know
11. The Learning: …sharing ideas and resources, collaboration, and learning. We may share our learning, ideas and expertise in different ways; using different media and tools, but the essence is the same: the PLN is simply the best professional development you will ever participate in – and it’s available 24/7. 12. The Network: The defining feature of the PLN is that it is a global learning network, enabling people to tap into and share diverse, global perspectives on teaching strategies, educational issues, and technologies. It takes time and effort to build these connections, but it’s well worth the effort. This network spot shows the benefit of having 4G speed, and the result of being left behind on a slower carrier. We see a man eagerly eyeing the clock in a train station. As it strikes 12:00, he throws down his trench coat and bursts into an elaborate dance. While he goes through his routine, we pan out and see others standing around the platform in similar trench coats, watching him with looks of frustration and disbelief. He slowly stops as he realizes he is dancing alone, he pulls out his phone and sees that the message he has been downloading for a few minutes has finally finished. The attachment reveals the news -- "Flash Mob moved to 12:30."Don't be the last to know. Get it faster with 4G. It's the network of possibilities, AT&T.
