American Forests works to clarify and publicize the value of environmental and ecological services that
forests provide. On the national level, American Forests works with Congress and the Executive Branch
to increase support for research and programs to benefit forests.
Jake Donnay, Director of Forest Policy, National Association of State Foresters (Washington, DC)
The National Association of State Foresters is a non-profit organization comprised of the directors of
forestry agencies in the states, territories and the District of Columbia of the United States. A member of
the Sustainable Urban Forest Coalition, NASF advocates for legislation and policies that promote the role
of trees and professionals that manage them.
Carrie Gallagher, Executive Director, ACTrees (College Park, MD)
Alliance for Community Trees is a national nonprofit dedicated to serving grassroots organizations that
plant and care for urban trees. ACTrees is committed to advocating for policies that protect and sustain
urban canopies nationwide for the benefit of people and communities.
