2. Sakıp Sabancı (1933 - 2004)
Sakıp SABANCI was born in 1933 in Akçakale village of Kayseri . He was a second son of
Hacı Ömer SABANCI and Sadıka SABANCI. His siblings are Ihsan , Hacı ,Şevket ,Erol
and Özdemir SABANCI. He started the career in 1948 at AKBANK bank like a intern.
after he became ill and left the high school. And started the work in BOSSA flour factory.
and became a manager at BOSA flour factory in 1955. Two years later married with Türkan
CIVELEK
And became a general manager helper of BOSSA textile factory.
3. He got a daughter in 1964 whose name was Dilek. And this year became of chairman of the
board at Adana Trade and industry committee . His father died in 1966 . And two years later
founded the Sabancı Holding company with his brother name is Hacı Ömer SABANCI. This is the
secont biggest company of Turkey. And took the chairman of the board of own companies.He got a
mentally defective son in 1970 and . And because of this he opened a treatment of spastic
children and education center in 1976 . He was founded the “VAKSA” 1974 . And opened the Ak
International bank in Holland that this bank was the first opened with tuskish capital stock .
He got the title of honorary doctorate by EskiŞehir Universty in 1984. And he became the
chairman of the board of TUSİAD. In 1992 was given the sacred treasure gold and silver star
engage by japanese goverment. And in 1988 opened the Sabancı Center . In 1994 he opened
the TOYOSA factory. In 1996 his brother Özdemir SABANCI killed . In 1998 was given the
distinguished service medal by turkey president of a republic. And bought 50 percent of the
“DANONESA” that was the famoust firm of the France. And he make the hyper-store chain like
“CARREFOURSA”.
In 1999 he opened the SABANCI universty . In 2001 he became 50 percent a partner in
“DuPont” company. With this partnership he created the “DUPONTSA” and “DUSA” international
firm have 16 factory in 4 continent.
