2. WHAT IS INTERNET OF THINGS?
The Internet of Things is the network of physical objects or embedded with software, electronics
and network connectivity, which enables these objects to collect and exchange data.
The Internet of Things allows objects to be sensed and controlled remotely across existing
network infrastructure, creating opportunities for more direct integration between the physical
world and computer based systems, and resulting in improved efficiency, accuracy and economic
benefit.
3. HOW INTERNET OF THINGS WORKS?
When we said that the “things” in the Internet of Things are able to connect to the internet, we
didn’t mean that they connect to the internet in the traditional way that you think of, like using
your laptop to open a web browser.
4. HOW INTERNET OF THINGS WORKS?
Instead, networks are set up for specific IoT devices
and applications. Let’s take a smart doorbell
camera for example. This device shares information
with you via your smart phone and lets you control
the camera. The doorbell camera isn’t able to
connect to everything, only your smart phone.
The doorbell camera and your smart phone use a
specific network to communicate with each other.
This is how IoT works. There are several different
ways these networks can be built.
