2. Angles in daily life
If we look around us, we will see angles everywhere.
3. Terms And Definition
RAY: A part of a line, with one endpoint, that continues
without end in one direction.
LINE: A straight path extending in both directions with no
endpoints.
LINE SEGMENT: A part of a line that includes two
points, called endpoints.
4. Intersecting Lines And Non
Intersecting Lines
Intersecting Lines : Lines that have one and
only one point in common are known as
intersecting lines
Non Intersecting lines : Lines that never cross
and are always the same distance apart.
6. Angles
1. Acute Angle 9. Corresponding Angles
2. Right Angle 10. Alternate Interior Angle
3. Obtuse Angle 11. Alternate Exterior Angle
4. Straight angle
5. Reflex Angle
6. Adjacent Angles
7. Linear Pair Of Angles
8. Vertically Opposite Angles
Angles are formed by two rays that begin at the same point or share
the same endpoint. The angle measures the amount of turn between the
two arms and is usually measured in degrees or radians. Where the
two rays intersect (come together to meet) is called the vertex. The two
rays are sometimes referred to as the arms.
10. Straight Angle
A straight angle changes the direction to point
the opposite way. It looks like a straight line. It
measures 180° (half a revolution, or two right
angles)
15. Corresponding Angles
When two lines are crossed by another line (which is called the
Transversal), the angles in matching corners are called corresponding
angles.
16. Alternate Interior Angle
When two lines are crossed by another line (which is called the
Transversal), the pairs of angles on opposite sides of the transversal but
inside the two lines are called Alternate Interior Angles.
17. Alternate Exterior Angle
When two lines are crossed by another line (which is called the
Transversal), the pairs of angles on opposite sides of the transversal but
outside the two lines are called Alternate Exterior Angles.
18. Parallel Lines And Transversal
Transversal :- A line that intersects two or more lines
Parallel Lines :- Parallel lines remain the same distance apart over
their entire length. No matter how far you extend them, they will never
meet.
