Presentation by Jana Buckle

2. PBS focuses on creating systems with school staff to
promote students to take responsibility for their
behavioral choices.
PBS is a custom designed process and is not a canned
prescriptive program with a one size fits all for schools.
Each school tailors the systems to fit their
needs and expectations.
3. School Wide Systems (for all
students)
Specific Setting Systems
(hallways, lunch
area, bathrooms, playground,
etc.)
Classroom Systems (keep
classroom and building
systems consistent)
Individual Systems (supporting
high risk students with
individual plans)
4. • The staff needs to act together to set common expectations,
not just for learning, but for the behaviors that support learning.
• Staff must come to common agreements to promote
consistency in managing student behavior, teaching students
the desired behaviors, and tracking discipline issues in the
student management decision-making process.

9. PBS @ ERR
Involving students in the creation of expected
behaviours & procedures instructional videos…
10. PBS schools use school-wide
and classroom positive
reinforcement to promote
expected student behavior and
teach behavioral
expectations, like academic
skills.
11. Our goal in potentially adopting the
PBS initiative is to establish and
maintain effective school
environments that maximize
academic achievement and
behavioral competence of all
learners.
