Evaluate the claim in each of the three cases. Answer: a) impossible; b) unlikely; c) OK (Please show ALL work) Solution TL = 20 F = 266.483 K TH = 70 F = 294.261 K According to carnot the max COP is given by MAX COP = TL/(TH-TL) = 266.483/(294.261-264.483) = 266.483/27.778 MAX COP = 9.6 Therefore a is not possible b is possible for reversed carnot cycle c is possible with real cycle.
