3. RedTacton is a new Human Area networking
technology that uses the surface of the human body
as a safe, high speed network transmission path at a
speed of 10mbps.
RedTacton uses the minute electric fields generated
by human body as medium for transmitting the data.
It was developed by Japanese Technology NTT Lab.

5. NTT , the Japanese telecoms group, and the team of
scientists invented the RedTacton system. "Tacton"
because with this technology, communication starts
by touching (Touch), leading to various actions (Act
on).
As reported on Gizmodo(02/25/2008), the technology
is currently being marketed as a way to turn a human
into a swipe card.
6. Three levels of connectivity:
1.Wide Area Networks (WAN)- typically via the
Internet.
2. Local Area Networks (LAN)-typically via Ethernet
or Wi-Fi connectivity.
3.Human Area Networks (HAN)- for connectivity to
personal information, media and communication
appliances.

the user or embedded in devices. It is a Duplex
communication. RedTacton uses “SUPER
SENSETIVE PHOTONIC” electric field sensor.
The body surfaces may be any of our parts like
hands,fingers,arms,face,feet,legs.

1)Redtacton Transceiver (PC card type)
2) Redtacton Transceiver (Hub type)
3) Redtacton Device (Box type)

Medical Applications-medicine containers could
have chips embedded in them that when touched
could send an alarm to the user.
Consumer Applications-such as admissions systems
and payment processing devices.

personal verification tools such as fingerprint ID
biometric in the mobile terminal.
Red Tacton can carry music or video between
headsets, mobile devices, mobile phones.
A communication environment can be created easily
and at low-cost Communication.
15. It’s adoption could be slow since Bluetooth and other
radio technologies are already entrenched.
It will be comparatively expensive.
As it uses electric fields on the surface of the body ,it
may cause harm to the body.
16. We conclude that, when we compare RedTacton with
other technology present today it can give a better
performance over others and to connect the network
with in short distances RedTacton is best.
In this technology there is no problem of hackers as
our body is itself a media Human society is entering
