Tour information
During the trip, you will be travelling for 4-8 hours from one to another destination. Every
couple of hours, we will have short break for photographs, toilets, stretching etc,,, . On the
tour we serve you by 4WD vehicles, mostly Russian and Japanese vehicles. The minivan has
capacity of maximum 6 people with luggage and the Japanese jeep has maximum of 3 people
with luggage. We always make sure all our vehicles are inspected and well prepared before
departure.
Overnight mostly we stay at tourist camp and they provide the guest’s accommodation as a
ger which is very comfortable and cozy to stay there. Tourist ger camp is able to provide you
all the modern facilities including restaurant/bar ,hot shower, western style toilet,etc.,,,
You will be served mostly delicious western style and Mongolian traditional food.
4. Amarbayasgalant monastery
Amarbayasgalant Monastery was built during 1727-1736, in the honor of Under Gegeen
Zanabazar, the first Bogd of Mongolia. It is situated in a deep valley near Burenkhan Mountain.
The valley is well-watered by the Evin River and has long been renown for its rich vegetation in
north central Asia. Originally, Amarbayasgalant monastery consisted of over 40 temples on
the special terrace, surrounded by a wall, measuring 207x175 m. Only 28 temples are remained
now and they have been under State protection since 1944. The monastery has a symmetrical
construction. The size of its Tsogchin (Main) temple is 32x32 m. Its construction expresses the
planning features of the Mongolian national architecture and engineering solutions are very
original. One of the interesting solution is routing of roof water through the inside of four
columns, under the floor, through stone grooves and away from the Tsogchin temple. It is
located 360 km to the north of Ulaanbaatar and considered to be one of the most famous
cultural site.
5. Erdenet city
Erdenet is the second-largest city in Mongolia and the capital of the Orkhonprovince .
Located in the northern part of the country, it lies in a valley between the Selenge and Orkhon
rivers.Erdenet, one of the youngest settlements in Mongolia, was founded in 1974 in an area
where large deposits of copper had been discovered in the 1950s. The city has the fourth
largest copper mining factory in the world. Erdenet mining factory is capable of 22.23 million
tons of ore per year, producing 126,700 tons of copper and 1,954 tons of molybdenum. About
8,000 people are employed in the mining factory.
6. Ogii Lake
Ogii Lake is one of the biggest lakes in Mongolia and located in the Arkhangai province. It has
25.7 km squire area, average depth is 6.64m, in some sections 15.3 m and coastal length is 24.7
km. It is very stunning place for bird watching, fishing and swimming. There are 150 sorts of
extremely rare and protected species birds of passage come to settle down on the "Ogii" lake.
Also the "Ogii" lake has 14 sorts of fish belonged to the North Atlantic ocean area .
7. Present Kharakhorum town
Kharakhorum is one of the most important attractions of Mongolia. The town is located about
370 km in the west of Ulaanbaatar, at the river Orkhon. The Kharakhorum was founded in 1220
by Genghis Khan and had been the capital of the Mongolian empire for 32 years.
8. Erdene Zuu monastery
Erdene Zuu monastery is the most ancient Buddhist monastery inthe Mongolia. It is located in
the Uvurkhangai Province. It is part of the World Heritage Site entitled Orkhon Valley Cultural
Landscape. The monastery was built in 1585 by Abtai Sain Khan, upon the introduction of
Buddhism into Mongolia as the state religion. Stones and ruins of the Kharakhorum had been
used to the construction. It is surrounded by a wall featuring 108 stupas, 108 being a sacred
number in Buddhism, and the number of beads in a Buddhist rosary. The monastery was
damaged by warfare in the 1680s, but it was rebuilt in the 18th century.
9. Zaya Gegeenii Khuree monastery
Zaya Gegeenii Khuree is a large old Buddhist monastery, remarkably intact , preserved as a
museum including an active community of monks. Most of the monastery now houses the
Museum of Arkhangai province. The displays are magnificent , housing many treasures ,
clothes , games ,masks and memorabilia.
10. Tsenkher Hot Spa
Tsenkher Hot Spa is a natural hot spring flows out whole year from the ground at 85 Celsius
degree, country's second hottest, in mountainous Central Mongolia. It is located 28 km south
of Tsetserleg town in Arkhangai province and 22 km south west Tsenkher village. The spring
comes out from far deep part of the ground and its water is not mixed with soil waters because
it is hot. Also the spring is kept in high pressure under the ground flow rate is high, 10 liters per
seconds. The water has high mineral content and containing everything from simple calcium,
sodium to sulphuric. Folklore claimed medical value some of this springs have, they are often
popular tourist destinations for Mongolian people. The spring produce water that is good for
health reasons and water is effect for joints, nerve system and considered good for many other
diseases.
11. Tuvkhun monastery
Tuvkhun monastery was built in 1653. The Tuvkhun monastey was built at ShireetUlaan, the
most beautiful scenery in Khangai Mountains. Tuvkhun monastery is located in the densely
forested and picturesque mountain Shivee at an elevation of 2000m above sea level. Tuvkhen
monastery consists of a stupa, prayer wheels and 14 temples and originally had about 20
lamas.
12. Orkhon valley
The Orkhon valley covering an area of 1,220 square kilometers is one of the most important
cultural regions in the world and recognized by the UNESCO World Heritage as a cultural
landscape in 2004. The extensive area encompasses the pastureland on both banks of the
Orkhonriver and includes numerous archaeological sites dating back to the 6th century.
The Orkhon valley Cultural Landscape includes sites such Kharakhorin, the 13th century capital
of Chinggis Khaan’s Empire.
13. Ongi monastery
Ongi monastery is formerly one of the largest monasteries in Mongolia .Ongi monastery was
founded in 1660 and consisted of two temple complexes on the north and south banks of the
Ongi River. The older southern complex consisted of various administrative buildings as well as
11 temples. The northern complex built in the 18th
century, consisted of 17 temples-among
them one of the largest temples in all Mongolia.
The Ongi monastery grounds also 4 religious universities and could accommodate over one
thousand monks at a time. But during 1930s the monastery was completely destroyed and
over 200 monks were killed by the communists. After democracy of Mongolia in 1990, monks
returned to Ongi monastery where they had begun their Buddhist education as young children
some 60 years prior. These monks started laying new foundation upon the old ruins, with a
vision to restore Ongi monastery and revitalize Buddhism in Mongolia. Ongi River is one of the
longest river in Mongolia has 435 km length and flows into UlaanNuur. A river takes source
from the Khangai Mountain range in Ovorkhangai Aimag.
14. Baga Gazriin Chuluu
Baga Gazriin Chuluu is located at Mongolian granite rock zone in the Dund Gobi province.
Chuluu means stone .Baga Gazriin Chuluu, is a 15km long and 10 km wide stone massif, and it
is located 30 km far from south east of Adaatsag soum. This stone massif is also part of the
Mongolian granite stone zone. The highest point is Tahilgat Mountain /1758 m/ in the
Northwest part of the stone massif.This place is popular at inhabiting the wild sheep, ibex and
marmots. Surtiin am is one of many beautiful places in Baga Gazriin Chuluu. This is a narrow
canyon with asp, birch, white whicker and elm tree, as well the ruin of a stone temple and the
site of 2 yurts where monks lived and meditated since the seventieth century. There is a 20 m
long cave near to the Surtiin Am. Crystals can be found around the cave. Life size paintings of
deer are painted on a granite stone and another yurt shaped stone called Ger chuluu.
According to scientists, 64 tombs and tumuli dated back to Khugnu tribe have been found
around Baga Gagriin Chuluu .Also, there is a spring water which comes from under source is
good for eye illness.
15. Manzushir monastery
Manzushir moastery is located in the luxuriant valley of the Bogd Khaan mountain National
Park. It was established in 1733 with 20 temples and 300 monks. Destroyed in 1932, the only
remaining temple has been restored and a museum at the site tells the story of the monastery.
At the top, the views are even more beautiful, and you’ll find yourself in the midst of a lovely
pine forest.
