2. IN THE END,
the truest measure of any person who was fortunate
enough to become a willing parent is how their child
looks upon them as they walk into adulthood and
beyond. There is no greater purpose in life than to give
love and share true meaning with those who come into
the world trusting in you most. The state of our world
has its roots in the parenting it receives.

3. Took a glimpse at the future,
Oh how you had grown so much older.
I was scared when I left you,
That this would be the last time i’d see you.
Saw how much I would miss you,
Afraid our goodbyes would be lost to the distance.

4. You said goodbye to all at the station.
One last kiss on the foreheads of your children,
Boarded a train and felt the ghost of her hand,
Wishing you well on your way.

5. I have your build,
But I have my mother’s eyes.
I have her patience,
The lessons to help see me through.

6. I know the value of speaking truths,
because of you.
I know what’s wrong and right.
Oh I have to say, I’ll miss you dearly.

7. I loved how you were always brave.
Spoke the truth no matter the danger,
You always faced.
You always protected me in your own way.

8. I’ll patiently sit under this old tree.
I’ll wait for you, to come back and visit me.
You don’t need to say, It’s clear to see,
You were proud of me everyday.
I know your hope always shines right through,
Some days I wish I was strong like you.

9. This fall-out of pain won’t last forever.
Cherish, the moments, we had together.
Every picture, seems more like a relic.
I wish I could, go back and hear ya,
