It is the study of all living things, is the study of life, but
biology has a number of branches.
Types of Biology
• Biophysics: studying natural phenomena from the
physical effects.
• Biochemistry: Study the chemical behavior of
matter right through the chemical reaction.
• Biomedicine: internal studies the behavior of
human beings.
Science: means in Latin "Cientia" which means "know"
all knowledge is accurate and reasonable things we can
explain its cause.
3. Zoology – Animals
Zoology (from Greek "ζωον" zoon = "animal", and "-λογία"-logy, treaty, study, science) is the biological
discipline that deals with the study of animals.
Botany – Plants
Botany (Greek βοτάνη = grass) or plant science (Greek φυτόν = plant and λόγος = treaty) is the science
that deals with the study of plants, in all its aspects, including its description, classification, distribution,
identification the study of reproduction, physiology, morphology, mutual relationships, relationships with
other living beings and induced effects on the environment in which they find themselves.
Ecology – Environment
Ecology (from Greek "οίκος" oikos = "home", and "λóγος 'logos =" knowledge ") is the science that
studies living things, their environment, the distribution, abundance and how these properties are
affected by the interaction between organisms and their environment, "the biology of ecosystems.“
Genetics – Inheritance
Genetics (from Ancient Greek γενετικός, genetikos γένεσις genetivo and eastern genesis, "origin") is the
field of biology that seeks to understand biological inheritance that is passed from generation to
generation.
4. Anatomy - Human Body
Anatomy (from Lat. Anatomy, and it's gr. Ἀνατομία; ἀνατέμνειν derived from the verb 'cut across';
compound ἀνά, ana "upward" and τέμνειν, temnein "cut") is a science that studies the structure of living
beings, ie shape, topography, location, layout and unrelated to their component organs.
Cytology – Cell

Morphology - Form and Structure of the Human Body
Morphology is the discipline responsible for studying reproduction and structure of an organism or
system. Morphology is a biological science that deals with the form and reproductions of organic beings.
Embryology – Embryo
Embryology is the branch of biology that is responsible for studying morphogenesis, embryonic
development and gametogenesis nervous from the moment of birth to living beings.
5. Paleontology – Fossils
The Paleontology (from the Greek 'παλαιος »palaios = old," οντο "onto = be,'-λογία"-logy, treaty, study,
science) is the science that studies and interprets the past of life on Earth through fossils.
Physiology – Functions
Physiology (from Greek φυσις physis, "nature", and λογος logos, "knowledge, study") is the science that
studies the biological functions of living things.
