2. IEEE 15th International Conference on
Environment and Electrical Engineering2
Eugenio ing. Pignatelli
(Alosys communications srl shareholder)
An approach to the development of an advanced
solution for smart monitoring applications
3. High lights3
Internet of Things ( IoT ) : in the short and medium time this term can
embrase from intelligent street light to manage buildings to
industrial manufactures IT- enable and sanitary devices
Alosys experience involves systems and devices interconnected through
the different telecommunications network and innovative technology
to apply the concept of Internet of Things (IoT) and industrial
applications, interoperability with RFID, videocameras,
Machine2Machine, environmental etc… and network/application
control center.
4.
¤ ALOSYS has employed or contributed to
employ tele control and tele managing
systems for street light service up to a single
point of light with no impact on the existing
plant, for some Cities .
¤ ALOSYS choose to follow and interworking
with innovative technologies and integrate
the best spread and hight reliability /
availability for the best maintenance service.
¤ Our experience involves systems and
devices interconnected through the
telecommunications networks:
¤ Sensors
¤ Machine2Machine (Aryel)
¤ Intelligent concentrators
¤ Control Center
Smart City : Alosys Experience
Gartner loT definition
"The Internet of Things is the
network of physical objects
that contain embedded
technology to communicate
and sense or interact with
their internal states or the
external environment. “
5. Overview state of art
5
Alosys from 2006 has invested for control cost and telemetering in
energy market
On street light control the results are:
information in real time of cost energy
troubleshooting in proactive mode
dimmering for single point or line
remote managing of switch on off
capillary points of data collection
managing infrastructure in a remote control room
security trasmission data
6. Experience in field
6
Problem to solve :
to reach any street light lamp or sensor in critical
field
standard communications to manage each
technology of lamps or sensors
reliability in a “non office” enviroment
big data has to give few important information to
decision maker

8. Smart Economy: Alosys Experience
Alosys interprets the smart
economy goals as:
¤ Collaboration with Italian
a n d i n t e r n a t i o n a l
Universities on ICT and
Energy themes
¤ Strong attention to
innovation
¤ Capability to project
devices and services
¤ Patents and trademarks
¤ Partnership with the best
multinationals factories for
smart cities components
9. Smart Economy: International Standards
LonTalk, originally developed by
Echelon Corporation has been adopted as
an open international control networking
standard in the ISO/IEC 14908[1] family
of standards.
This standard specifies a multi-purpose
control network protocol stack optimized
for smart grid, smart building, and smart
city applications.
[2012]
TALQ Consortium aims to establish a globally
accepted standard for management software
interfaces to control and monitor
heterogeneous outdoor lighting networks.
This way interoperability between Central
Management Systems (CMS) and Outdoor
Lighting Networks (OLN) from different
vendors will be enabled, such that a single
CMS can control different OLNs in different
parts of a city or region.
13. Smart City: Smart Economy
Smart Economy :
The smart city motivate the private
companies, public sector, and
institutes of research to create a
stimulating environment to ICT
technology and encourages the
disclosure of applications and the
monitoring of testing
The indicators of Smart Economy
are:
Innovation
Enterpreneurship
Economics and trade mark
Productivity
Flexibility
Global coverage
Adaptability to changing
14. Alosys’ s view on “smart “ market
According to IEA we are
investing in renewal of
electrical system to deploy
Smart Grids and Smart
metering systems for Smart
Cities and Smart Buildings
(Directive 2009/72/EC )
We fell a value added
partner for the customers
and we have the goal to
apply innovative
methodology to sistems
and projects on a
international standard on
ICT market.
16. why “the new Aryel “ is Smart?16
Versatile and cost effective system for smart metering
applications to manage complex infrastructure (smart
city and smart buildings)
Capability of acquiring data from specialized
environment and sensors, elaborating, analyzing and
making useful for advanced services to the costumers-
Efficient and maintenance management
Easy and multi access user interface
17. Interworking with smart systems/sensors17
What the user would like to have:
Reducing the cost
Increasing the avability of the service
Managing in a simply mode his system or device
To be free to chose the environment or systems he
likes
20. …..and these are the strategic goals20
Internet of thinks (IoT)
Platform for data transmission in capillar field
estention (in street lighting each 30mt there is a
point of receiver/sender data)
Real time monitoring point of failure (from a call
to a reactive troubleshooting ) managing the
system by P.C., Tablet, Phone, Smart phone etc
21. Technical major features of “new Aryel”
