INDUCTION DAY PRESS NOTE FOR ENGAGEMENT COLUMN
Alpha College of Engineering, Chennai,organised a one day National Conclave
“POWER 2K17 – Perspectives on Women Empowerment Revisited”, on 7th
October 2017. Mrs. G.T.Ambika, District Judge, Poonamallee, was the Chief
Guest for the program. The program was presided over by Mrs. Suja George, Vice
Chairperson, Alpha Group of Institutions.
The program started with a Prayer by Mrs. Sumitra, HOD, ECE Dept, ACE. Dr.B.
Sowmya, Principal, ACE, welcomed everyone to the program, which was followed
by Dr.Tamilselvi, HOD, Dept of Mathematics, introducing the Chief Guest.
Mrs.Suja George Vice Chairperson, Alpha Group of Institutions gave the
Presidential address. Mrs. G.T.Ambika, District Judge, Poonamalleee and Chief
Guest for the program, had delivered the Conclave address.
Then Dr.B.Yamuna Krishna, HOD, MBA, had proposed the vote of thanks with
which the inaugural program had come to an end. The program was well attended
by students, faculty members and corporates (including Home makers).
Post the tea break, Papers were presented by the participants on various issues
related to Women Empowerment. During the post lunch Panel discussion on the
theme Women Empowerment Revisited – the 5 panelists from various professions
