Pros and Cons of the Internet Essay
The Internet is more popular today than it was years ago. As technology advances, the use of the
Internet grows yonder and is an amazing addition in our lives. The Internet has been perhaps the
most outstanding innovation in the field of communication in the history of humanity. It is a global
meeting place where people from all parts of the world can collaborate. Additionally, it is a service
available on the computer, through which anyone who has access to the Internet can receive. The
Internet is for a business owner, an employee, and a student.
Although the Internet is widely used in the homes, the Internet has its own advantages and
disadvantages. Many have fears that the Internet poses too many harmful effects, therefore, its...show

During one's spare time, one may decide either to play an online game or to join a chat room. The
objective person may say that browsing the Internet and performing that kind of activity
encourages laziness but I beg to differ. The virtual world can actually be constructive. It
stimulates the mind to try a wide range of games right in arms length. You will be able to choose
which game satisfies your desire. In addition, chat rooms allow you to meet new people and learn
about different cultures by interaction and helps in your conversation skills. Since the person is not
visual, there is no need to fear having a conversation because the confidence level should grow
behind the scenes. A chat room is a way to learn, talk and socialize (Crystal).
Meanwhile, business is another addition to what the Internet has to offer. Businessmen and women
both utilize the Internet for so many reasons. It comes in handy for advertising purposes, which
brings forth the term E–commerce. Ecommerce is the concept used for any type of commercial
maneuvering, or business deals that involves the transfer of information across the globe via Internet
(Pakhare). This will target a wider network of potential customers rather than seclude it to one area.
Can this be harmful? It is more of an asset to the businessperson. Likewise, the average person
performs business online too. They flock towards online banking services, which is more convenient
to conduct transactions and view

Pros and Cons of Studying Abroad Essay
Study Abroad
Studying abroad is an act whereby students move to different countries other than their own to
pursue education opportunities. Education of this form can be primary, secondary or tertiary levels.
Education has taken tremendous leaps over the years. It has experienced significant changes and
advancements. Because of these changes, many people are increasingly becoming educated.
Education has also reached the far corners of the world and more people are attaining it. In the
present day, countries strive to become more and more developed. For this reason there is an
increasing need for better education. Societies with advanced education systems and many educated
people attain growth and development rapidly. For this reason,...show more content...
It is said that education in the west provides practicability and prepares people to educate
themselves in life. Studying abroad goes beyond academic fulfillment. It exposes people to a
different worldviews altogether. People learn many things in different countries. Studying abroad
exposes people to different cultures. It teaches about different cultural practices such as rites, rituals
and relations. It helps people appreciate these different cultures, as well. It also educates about
different ways of living for example the foods people eat and pass–time activities in which they
involve themselves. Studying abroad also helps to promote inter–cultural relations and
communications (Deardorff 253). It also helps people learn different languages.
Another merit for studying abroad is that it enriches someone with knowledge and inter–cultural
communication skills that one can apply in their home country. When people study abroad and
return to their home countries, they are able to improve their societies with their acquired
knowledge and they are also able to relate and work well with foreign people in their countries.
Another reason why people seek to study abroad is to attain part time job opportunities even as they
pursue their studies. This earns them incomes that they can save or spend for their personal
development. People also involve themselves in volunteer work as part of the process of learning
new work relations, inter–cultural

Essay Abortion: Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice
Abortion is never an easy decision, but women have been making the choice for thousands of
years. It has become a large dilemma since 1973, when the U.S. Supreme Court passed a law
making the procedure legal, and an even larger controversial issue. The controversy is divided into
"Pro–Choice" and Pro–Life" views. Pro–Choice supporters believe that the woman should have to
choice whether to abort or not. Pro–Life supporters believe that it should be illegal to abort and
preformed. However, there are many ways for this procedure to be performed. Abortion still
remains today a controversial issue, by who should determine if it is the right thing to terminate a
pregnancy or not and by how the procedure should be preformed. In 1973, a...show more content...
The district court ruled in McCorvey's favor on the merits, but didn't grand an injunction against the
enforcement of the laws barring abortion. The courts decision was based upon the Ninth
Amendment. Pro–choice describes political and ethical views that a woman should have the control
over her fertility and the choice to continue or terminate her pregnancy. Pro–choice activists argue
that an embryo has no rights as it is only a potential and not an actual person and its rights should not
override those of the mother's until after it is born. The right to choose to have an abortion is
personal and essential to women's lives and without this right, women cannot exercise their rights
and liberties guaranteed to them by the Constitution. Without the right to choose an abortion the 14th
amendment's guarantee of liberty has little meaning for women. Another point made could include
that a man can withdraw from a relationship when he finds out that his spouse is pregnant, it is only
fair that women be given the same choice. Pro–life supporters believe that human life starts from
fertilization or implantation until natural death. From the view of a pro–life advocate and action that
destroys an embryo or fetus kills a person, any purposeful destruction of a human life is considered
ethically and/or morally wrong. Some advocates of pro–life even oppose abortion of a fetus that
would almost certainly die a short time after birth. The pro–life movement is

Pros And Cons Of Instagram Essay
These days more and more people are using social media to promote, connect, interact and have
fun. But aside from this , there are a lot of benefits that Instagram offers to the users. One benefit I
consider is starting a business. Sounds hard, but actually it isn't. It just takes patience and
determination to do what you want to persue. First of all, why do we choose Instagram as a
choice to start our business? Easy, it is because more and more people choose Instagram to upload
photos and shop for their needs. "Studies show that 25% are more engaged to using Instagram for
business than other social media sites." (Shopify) Even though Facebook still wins in having the
most users, still people choose Instagram over Facebook for online shop reason....show more

We can not escape from these pros and cons but the best time we can do is to try our best to avoid
and be careful. There are 2 important pros I considers in using Instagram in making your business
grow. One pro is that Instagram is very easy to use. When you buy a smartphone all you have to
do is to install , create an account then you're good to go. Also, this is also very handy, which
means that you can bring your phone everywhere you go and upload whereever you are. Second
pro is that it's growing very fast. According to Pew Research Internet Project, Instagram is the
fastest growing social media platform as of our generation. No wonder online shops are becoming
famous now a days. On the other hand, their are 2 cons one can experience in using Instagram in
making your business grow. On con I witnessed personally myself is scam. People scam owners to
let them believe that they are buying, but actually, it isn't. They just want the owners to ship the
items to their house without paying them or perhaps reserving the item for months without paying.
Second con is that you definetely start from zero. This means that you have to attract followers on
your own. Its the most hardest part I think when starting a business on social media. You have to let
a celebrity sposor your products to have more followers which is quite pricey

Internet Pros And Cons Essay
"In today's world, the internet is a huge part of everyone's daily lives. People are extremely reliant
on the internet because most jobs and schools use it as a tool to increase efficiency and to save
time. It seems that the internet is massively beneficial but it also has its cons. The internet can be
beneficial because it can be a place for people so escape and help with their mental health.
Another reason the internet is good is because it is an amazing tool that allows a person to access
any information within minutes. Some cons that come with having access to the internet is that it
can be addictive and this results in a person always spending their time on the internet rather than
doing other things that can benefit their health and life. Another con that could also be consider a

It seems like bullying is more common on the internet because the bully is able to hide behind
their screen so they can say pretty much whatever they want without any repercussions. I think that
schools should definitely be aloud to keep tabs on a student's social media, but there should be
rules so no one is being taken advantage of. The school should only keep tabs on a student's social
media if they are suspicious of bullying or if someone brings it to their attention. Bullying is not
okay so if this will be an effective way to stop it then I say that it is a good idea. I also think that it is
important that schools monitor what is being searched because without this, students could waste
their time looking at pointless things or they could also use the internet to cheat on their assignments
so having restrictions will ensure that students cannot access these sights while at

Essay on Pros and Cons of Social Media
The more social media we have, the more we think we're connecting, yet we're really disconnecting
from each other. Communication is a crucial part of the human life when it comes to interacting
and progressing our society. Ever since the beginning of as much as we can remember, we've
communicated in many forms such as body language, sign language and written language.
Nowadays, we've taken socializing to a whole new level. We've constructed a form of typed
language with the given name, social networking. There are endless social media sites that make it
obtainable to connect between various amounts of people. In consideration of the ability that people
can interact through social media, most people own an account for engaging. Granting all...show

Social networking makes keeping in touch with a vast circle of friends easier. Anyone can send
personal emails and letters to individuals, or post a simple message for everyone to see at once.
They can let everyone know where they are, what they're doing and how they're feeling, and it
only takes a few seconds. The most genuine complication of social media is addiction. A reporter
on Salem health characterized that text messaging is no longer the biggest teenage obsession, and
enormous phone bills from lengthy phone calls are no longer the biggest doubts for parents.
These teenage addictions still remain, but in our generation and in analogy to the Facebook
mania, it's quite insignificant. Facebook addiction is advised to be a disorder driven by a craving.
Not being able to access Facebook creates anxiety among fanatics. It is one of the most prominent
social networking sites and has over one billion users without exception. People detach themselves
from family and friends. Further symptoms of Facebook addiction have been related with needy
sleep patterns. Researchers have also attempted to evaluate certain personality traits to the obsession.
Being in touch with friends and family might clarify the logic why people are unreasonably
obsessed. Some people evolve into becoming isolated after using social media. Some might think

Pro–Abortion About 20 million, out of 45 million, abortions are medically unsafe and can lead to
serious injury or death to mothers (Ojeda 13). Illegalizing abortion would bring up the number of
medically unsafe abortions. People say abortions should be illegal to stop the killing of unborn
babies. The mothers are the ones who really get to decide if they want to be pregnant for nine
months or if they want to get rid of the baby that may have been caused by rape, broken condom, or
many other reasons. Many bad events could happen if abortion became illegal. The government
should make sure that abortion stays legal. Many people believe that abortion should stay legal so
that women have reproductive choice("Should Abortion be Legal"). Others believe that abortion is
wrong because it kills innocent babies. Abortion should be up to the women who will have to carry
that baby around for nine months whether they want to keep the baby or not. Many abortions take
place because the baby might be born without a good home, or the pregnancy was caused by rape, or
many other reasons. Most abortions do not just happen for a random reason. Whatever...show more

Pro Assisted Suicide Essay
Death With Dignity
Today, American society is obsessed with the young and successful and their endless pursuit of
beauty, fame, and fortune. People are bombarded with images of youth in movies, music, and ads for
ordinary items such as toothpaste. Advertisers create the illusion that people can forever defer death
by plastering ?anti–aging? across drugstore aisles to sell their products. In the search for eternal
youth, people become desensitized to the importance of life?s inevitable end. Every day, countless
people quietly pass away after long and painful struggles with terminal illnesses, and their loved

The law allows physicians to prescribe drugs to terminally ill patients who request to end their lives.
Attorney General John
Ashcroft attempted to invalidate the Oregon Death with Dignity Act in 2001, and the judicial system
met his requests with multiple restraining orders. Ashcroft subsequently appealed to the
Supreme Court, and the justices voted to uphold the law in January 2006. Ashcroft?s actions
sparked public disapproval because a majority of the American public approved of the statute at the
time. In early 2002, a poll indicated that only 35% of people approved of his actions while
58% disapproved of them (The Harris Poll 2002). Due to the strength of the Oregon Death with
Dignity Act?s provisions, no people have reported abuses or mis–diagnoses since its implementation
(Oregon Department of Human Services Report, 1994–2005). Explaining the
Oregon Death with Dignity Act to the national level will remedy the controversy of assisted suicide
by providing an option for terminally ill patients, implementing adequate safeguards against abuse,
and protecting physicians against wrongful prosecution.
Despite the common assertion that assisted suicide is immoral and unnecessary under any
circumstances, people suffering from terminal illnesses desperately need options. People in
American society have the well–recognized right to withdraw from life support or reject medical
treatment without

Pro Imperialism
Pro Imperialism First of all, history is survival of the fittest. Basically history of mankind is of
stronger people subduing weaker people. We must annex territory otherwise it is in jeopardy of
Spanish colonial rule. If we do not annex foreign land someone else will. Cuba is our neighbor. It
is a stone's throw away from the State of Florida. Is it right to ignore the plight of the people of
Cuba? They have been fighting for their freedom and independence almost continuously since 1878.
The Spanish Empire has committed many unspeakable acts on this island since the fighting began.

tradition to ask that Spain give up the control of Cuba...show more content...
Now, we're involved in a possible conflict with Spain. It is possible that we might engage in an
epic naval battle with the Spanish fleet in the Philippines. Hawaiian Islands provide us with the
perfect coal station for our Navy and supply ships on the way to the Philippines. It is in America's
best interest to annex Hawaii as soon as possible. If we do not act quickly, the British might annex
Hawaii. There's no time to waste. The Filipinos have been fighting against the Spanish rule for some
time now. Are we going to help them achieve their independence from Spanish rule? If we deem that
they'd be better of being independent, we will assist them. But, if we deem that they'd benefit from
being annexed, we might go ahead and add the Philippines to our oversea possessions. Like with the
Hawaiians, the Filipinos will benefit from the Christianization of their islands. With the influx of
American values, cultures, and language, we will be doing any country annexed a favor by allowing
them into our nations cultural and economic prosperity. Anti–Imperialism America must not be
looking for monsters to slay in the world. I am worried that America might become an overbearing
power to our Latin neighbors in the future with this precedence in Cuba. What about Hawaii and the
Philippines? These island nations are not in the Western Hemisphere, and yet, we are looking into
possible annexation. I am afraid that America's insatiable thirst for territories

"Be the change you wish to see in the world" is a great quote to live by because it guides you to
help others and make an impact. I use this quote to guide my life personally because I want to be
able to use what I believe in, and my goals to make a change. Abortion is a very common debate in
the world, and it has been this way for hundreds of years. There are two main arguments when it
comes to abortion, most people are either Pro Life or Pro Choice. People that are pro life are
against abortions and believe that every human life has equal worth and should have the opportunity
to live. While people who are pro choice believe that women should have the choice to decide if
they wanted to keep the child that they had growing inside of them or if she wants to terminate the
pregnancy. I am pro life because I believe that abortions are used as a way out of something that
people are in no hurry to try and prevent. I think that as a society we focus on sex as a thing that
everyone does and that makes young adults think that they need to be joining what everyone is

Essay on The Pros and Cons of Globalization
Globalization can be defined as the system of interaction among the countries of the world in order
to develop the global economy. It also refers to the integration of economics and societies all over the
world (http://hotbabefatchicks.hubpages.com/hub/Definition–of–Globalization).
Globalization can be both advantageous and detrimental to developing countries. Some of its
advantages are increased external finance, improved technology and political conformism.
Disadvantages of globalization include death of small and medium businesses, loss of cultural
identity and the effect of foreign policies on domestic economic development. Let us take a closer
look at these consequences of globalization.

They were also the first business to introduce 3G services in Nigeria. Now, Nigerians can
communicate and network with people all over the world.
Political conformism: With the increasing influence of foreign companies on developing countries'
economies, governments of developing nations need to carefully consider the effect of their policies
on foreign investors. As is well known, most developing countries practice different forms of
autocratic or pseudo democratic forms of government that lord it over their populace (Mostert, 2003).
Now, governments of these countries need to consider economic policies, tax forms and human
rights decrees that will encourage foreign investors to come help develop their nation. This has
helped alleviate lots of oppression that citizens of developing countries experience (Balakrishnan,
2004).
Now, we examine a few disadvantages of globalization on developing nations.
Death of small and medium businesses: The influx of global organizations into developing countries
often results in stiff competition for local business (often small and medium scale businesses).
Global organizations are armed with huge capital, advertisement strategies, sometimes higher
quality and better product prices. This leaves smaller local businesses scrambling for crumbs of the
market share and as a result, these SMEs crumble leaving scores of people jobless.
For example in Nigeria, prior to the entry of foreign textile and

Argumentative Essay On Pro Globalization
I am conflicted by the idea of advancing political, and economic globalization becoming more
predominant in world affairs. As many critics, and supporters acknowledge, the notion of
globalization has it's varying pros and cons, and claiming with certainty that the "good" outweighs
the "bad", or visa versa, is questionable at best. Through my understanding of Tony Papard's, and
Amelia Josephson's brief articles, I am going to advocate the argument calling for a halt, or decrease
in globalization. Im intentionally attempting to look acrimonious towards pro–globalization, so I do
not fall victim to my unsureness, and remain "on the fence" with this discussion. Take into account, I
could have easily made the argument for pro–globalization just as readily. To outline a focus, I will
be emphasizing on political, and economic elements of globalization that I determined to be the most
problematic for nation–states; and additionally, the reason why globalization will not replace the
nation–states as the primary entity for political expression. For a succinctly description of nation
states, during better half of the 20th century, the nation–state, with it's clearly defined boarders has
been the commanding source of political, and economic interaction. Nation–states provide the means
to establish individual cultures, economies, and social system, appropriated to domestic demands of
that territory. Its here where globalization begins to infringe on the nation–state. To

Pros and Cons of Immigration Essay
Pro/Con Illegal Immigration
Picture a scenario where crowds of people surround you. You don't know who they are. Hundreds
of people of all cultures, ethnicities, and genders pass by you. To you, they might seem like
regular people trying to get from Point A to B. Therefore, you would not assume that they play a
significant role in society. However, what if one person that passed by you today was an
undocumented citizen in the United States? How would you be able to tell the difference? Everyone

Legal or illegal, we should all be granted the same opportunities in order to provide a substantial
foundation for our families. Still, people are willing to risk their lives' to enter the United States.
Some may succeed, while some will be unsuccessful and get deported back to their own country.
They sacrifice everything in order to provide a sense of hope for their family. This is what the
American Dream represents; being able to prosper, raise a family, and live the means of a good life.
Illegal immigrants long for a day where their offspring will develop into a successful individual,
rather than growing up in an environment of poverty and despair. Imagine your child working in
the fields of Mexico only earning 50 to 60 pesos a day ($5–$6). He/she is planting crops under the
blazing sun getting blisters on their feet. The heat consumes the dream and hopes they aspire. People
experience many difficulties while seeing more than they desire. Although immigrants approach the
U.S. longing for wealth, in reality wages are less than the average salary of Americans. Even so,
immigrants gain strength to continue through the encouragement of their family. Another problem
that arises often from this controversial matter is education. Parents, coaches, teachers, and
counselors tell students to stay in school because it will eventually pay off in the long run. What
would you do if your child was rejected from attending college and the chances of them becoming
successful

Pro Affirmative Action Essay
Affirmative action is a policy or a program that seeks to redress past discrimination of minorities
through active measures in order to ensure equal opportunity, as in education and employment. In
other words, it is policy that was established to hopefully eliminate racial preference and equalize the
United States. The fight against discrimination has been a long lasting one that started with the case
of Plessy vs. Ferguson, which ended in the desegregation of all schools (Ficker). Affirmative action
was put into place in 1965 when President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Executive Order that
mandated government contractors to "take affirmative action" in all aspects of hiring and employing
minorities (Brunner). Upon its arrival, the policy...show more content...
The fact that, in most cases, a minority student will get accepted over a white student with the
same or almost the same qualifications is causing controversy all over the nation. This is precisely
the definition of affirmative action. In an excerpt titled Affirmative Action and the College
Admissions Process from the book, 8 Steps to Help Black Families Pay For College, by Thomas
and Will LaVeist, it is stated that, "affirmative action is meant to level the playing field and ensure
that schools and businesses are not intentionally discriminating against minority groups." This
leveling of the playing field leads to the very broad generalization and misperception that the policy
is allowing less–qualified minorities to take the place of the more–qualified whites. Two more cases
that aroused much debate on the issue were the 2003 cases of Gratz vs. Bollinger and Grutter vs.
Bollinger, in which two more–than–qualified students applied to the University of Michigan and
were denied due to acceptance policies. The two women, Jennifer Gratz and Barbara Grutter, took
their cases to the Supreme Court with the plea that the University of Michigan is "treating people
differently based on skin color, and that is unconstitutional" (Mears). The university openly stated
that they have a point system in their acceptance process in which students receive extra point if they
are of minority status. Mary Sue Coleman, the president of the University of Michigan stated, "[W]e

Abortion, when the topic comes up, it is usually something people do not like to discuss. People
may tend to avoid this issue for fear of offending or angering others but it is extremely important
that the horrors of this brutal practice be addressed. During the years 1965–1996 over 515 million
babies have been murdered, this is if you add the number of chemical and surgical abortions
(www.rockforlife.org). This is what we need to understand: abortion kills and we need to know where
it came from.
The legalization of abortion started in Mississippi in the year 1966; it was used in the cases of
rape. Then other states began to expand the use of abortion. For instance, if it was the case of rape,

Essay Pro Euthanasia
When someone is inevitably dying and in inexplicable pain is it really a crime to grant their wishes
and end their suffering? As of right now euthanasia is illegal in many countries and is a very
controversial topic. Is it compassion for the patient helping them in ending their life or murder? The
doctor is not giving death as an option, it is the patients choice and even where it is legal there are
many rules. Euthanasia should not be considered a crime because the patient is not being murdered;

showing euthanasia and voicing his opinion on the subject so the public could not ignore the
importance of the matter. Dr. Kevorkian was said to have been involved with 130 suicides by
patients who wanted to end their own lives (Nicol and Wylie 17). He had two machines he used to

the patient and although Dr. Kevorkian was taken to court many times for these he was not

Some of the world's best chefs are from other countries so food standards would decrease too.
Also, many of our favourite films and TV programmes wouldn't exist because many are made by

be as good. People from other cultures may have better ideas about behaviour and what rules to live

exist if we didn't have a multi–cultural society. We get a wider choose of music to listen to by
different artists and different genres of music such as bollywood and country and western. For
many of our Olympic medals we've received we can thank black and Asian athletes such as Kelly

many of our favourite sporting achievers are foreign. Technology has advanced because of

Pro Life And Pro Choice Essay
Abortion policy has been shifting throughout American history as American views have
simultaneously transitioned from more conservative to more liberal. Doctors, specifically regular
physicians, have surprisingly guided the discussion surrounding abortion in the most influential
way. Their power, in particular, their medical expertise, has allowed them to take hold of the issue
and push against abortion from a medical stance. As a result of the change in traditionalistic views,
the power the doctors held for a long time was taken by women, and abortion simultaneously
became not an issue of health, but one questioning morality as well as a woman's right to choose:
pro–life and pro–choice. In America, abortion policy has transitioned from an issue of health and
morality to one of women's rights over time due to the power shifting from doctors to women as a
result of modernization and the change in how Americans saw religion; this shift in turn impacting
how the abortion issue's sides are defined and how the issue is argued. Nineteenth century America
was one of orthodox views and traditional customs, abortion being among them. Abortion was seen
as abnormal and taboo: it was not talked about, seen primarily as a religious and medical issue. As
Callahan writes in Abortion: Law, Choice, and Morality, only "God has the right to take the life of
the innocent; hence the direct killing of the innocent, without the authority of God, is always wrong"
(310); however, Luker in The

The Pros And Cons Of Discrimination
Discrimination occurs everywhere. Unfair and unequal treatment of a person or group based on
certain characteristics, or membership in a protected class, such as race, sex, religion, national origin
and immigrant status is called discrimination. For instance, individual or groups are discriminated
through offensive jokes, insults, name calling or a landlord refuses to rent apartments to immigrants
in Ney York City.Discrimination is often defined based on recognition and understanding of the
difference between two grounds or categories. It is a prejudicial and riotous treatment through either
verbally or physically. New York CityCommission on Human Rights has been working against any
kinds of discrimination since the long history. New York City Commission on Human Rights has
recognized some grounds of discrimination based on protected class in New York City.
Among them, discriminatory harassment, or violence is conducted and motivated by the victim's
race, color, creed, national origin, gender (including gender–identity), sexual orientation, age, marital
or partnership status, family status, disability, alienage, or citizenship status and against the City
Human Rights Law. Discriminatory harassment or violence includes, but is not limited to, the given
actions; pattern of threatening verbal harassment, use of force, intimidation or coercion, defacing or

  • 1. Pros and Cons of the Internet Essay The Internet is more popular today than it was years ago. As technology advances, the use of the Internet grows yonder and is an amazing addition in our lives. The Internet has been perhaps the most outstanding innovation in the field of communication in the history of humanity. It is a global meeting place where people from all parts of the world can collaborate. Additionally, it is a service available on the computer, through which anyone who has access to the Internet can receive. The Internet is for a business owner, an employee, and a student. Although the Internet is widely used in the homes, the Internet has its own advantages and disadvantages. Many have fears that the Internet poses too many harmful effects, therefore, its...show more content... During one's spare time, one may decide either to play an online game or to join a chat room. The objective person may say that browsing the Internet and performing that kind of activity encourages laziness but I beg to differ. The virtual world can actually be constructive. It stimulates the mind to try a wide range of games right in arms length. You will be able to choose which game satisfies your desire. In addition, chat rooms allow you to meet new people and learn about different cultures by interaction and helps in your conversation skills. Since the person is not visual, there is no need to fear having a conversation because the confidence level should grow behind the scenes. A chat room is a way to learn, talk and socialize (Crystal). Meanwhile, business is another addition to what the Internet has to offer. Businessmen and women both utilize the Internet for so many reasons. It comes in handy for advertising purposes, which brings forth the term E–commerce. Ecommerce is the concept used for any type of commercial maneuvering, or business deals that involves the transfer of information across the globe via Internet (Pakhare). This will target a wider network of potential customers rather than seclude it to one area. Can this be harmful? It is more of an asset to the businessperson. Likewise, the average person performs business online too. They flock towards online banking services, which is more convenient to conduct transactions and view Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Pros and Cons of Studying Abroad Essay Study Abroad Studying abroad is an act whereby students move to different countries other than their own to pursue education opportunities. Education of this form can be primary, secondary or tertiary levels. Education has taken tremendous leaps over the years. It has experienced significant changes and advancements. Because of these changes, many people are increasingly becoming educated. Education has also reached the far corners of the world and more people are attaining it. In the present day, countries strive to become more and more developed. For this reason there is an increasing need for better education. Societies with advanced education systems and many educated people attain growth and development rapidly. For this reason,...show more content... It is said that education in the west provides practicability and prepares people to educate themselves in life. Studying abroad goes beyond academic fulfillment. It exposes people to a different worldviews altogether. People learn many things in different countries. Studying abroad exposes people to different cultures. It teaches about different cultural practices such as rites, rituals and relations. It helps people appreciate these different cultures, as well. It also educates about different ways of living for example the foods people eat and pass–time activities in which they involve themselves. Studying abroad also helps to promote inter–cultural relations and communications (Deardorff 253). It also helps people learn different languages. Another merit for studying abroad is that it enriches someone with knowledge and inter–cultural communication skills that one can apply in their home country. When people study abroad and return to their home countries, they are able to improve their societies with their acquired knowledge and they are also able to relate and work well with foreign people in their countries. Another reason why people seek to study abroad is to attain part time job opportunities even as they pursue their studies. This earns them incomes that they can save or spend for their personal development. People also involve themselves in volunteer work as part of the process of learning new work relations, inter–cultural Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Essay Abortion: Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice Abortion is never an easy decision, but women have been making the choice for thousands of years. It has become a large dilemma since 1973, when the U.S. Supreme Court passed a law making the procedure legal, and an even larger controversial issue. The controversy is divided into "Pro–Choice" and Pro–Life" views. Pro–Choice supporters believe that the woman should have to choice whether to abort or not. Pro–Life supporters believe that it should be illegal to abort and preformed. However, there are many ways for this procedure to be performed. Abortion still remains today a controversial issue, by who should determine if it is the right thing to terminate a pregnancy or not and by how the procedure should be preformed. In 1973, a...show more content... The district court ruled in McCorvey's favor on the merits, but didn't grand an injunction against the enforcement of the laws barring abortion. The courts decision was based upon the Ninth Amendment. Pro–choice describes political and ethical views that a woman should have the control over her fertility and the choice to continue or terminate her pregnancy. Pro–choice activists argue that an embryo has no rights as it is only a potential and not an actual person and its rights should not override those of the mother's until after it is born. The right to choose to have an abortion is personal and essential to women's lives and without this right, women cannot exercise their rights and liberties guaranteed to them by the Constitution. Without the right to choose an abortion the 14th amendment's guarantee of liberty has little meaning for women. Another point made could include that a man can withdraw from a relationship when he finds out that his spouse is pregnant, it is only fair that women be given the same choice. Pro–life supporters believe that human life starts from fertilization or implantation until natural death. From the view of a pro–life advocate and action that destroys an embryo or fetus kills a person, any purposeful destruction of a human life is considered ethically and/or morally wrong. Some advocates of pro–life even oppose abortion of a fetus that would almost certainly die a short time after birth. The pro–life movement is Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Pros And Cons Of Instagram Essay These days more and more people are using social media to promote, connect, interact and have fun. But aside from this , there are a lot of benefits that Instagram offers to the users. One benefit I consider is starting a business. Sounds hard, but actually it isn't. It just takes patience and determination to do what you want to persue. First of all, why do we choose Instagram as a choice to start our business? Easy, it is because more and more people choose Instagram to upload photos and shop for their needs. "Studies show that 25% are more engaged to using Instagram for business than other social media sites." (Shopify) Even though Facebook still wins in having the most users, still people choose Instagram over Facebook for online shop reason....show more content... We can not escape from these pros and cons but the best time we can do is to try our best to avoid and be careful. There are 2 important pros I considers in using Instagram in making your business grow. One pro is that Instagram is very easy to use. When you buy a smartphone all you have to do is to install , create an account then you're good to go. Also, this is also very handy, which means that you can bring your phone everywhere you go and upload whereever you are. Second pro is that it's growing very fast. According to Pew Research Internet Project, Instagram is the fastest growing social media platform as of our generation. No wonder online shops are becoming famous now a days. On the other hand, their are 2 cons one can experience in using Instagram in making your business grow. On con I witnessed personally myself is scam. People scam owners to let them believe that they are buying, but actually, it isn't. They just want the owners to ship the items to their house without paying them or perhaps reserving the item for months without paying. Second con is that you definetely start from zero. This means that you have to attract followers on your own. Its the most hardest part I think when starting a business on social media. You have to let a celebrity sposor your products to have more followers which is quite pricey Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 6. Internet Pros And Cons Essay "In today's world, the internet is a huge part of everyone's daily lives. People are extremely reliant on the internet because most jobs and schools use it as a tool to increase efficiency and to save time. It seems that the internet is massively beneficial but it also has its cons. The internet can be beneficial because it can be a place for people so escape and help with their mental health. Another reason the internet is good is because it is an amazing tool that allows a person to access any information within minutes. Some cons that come with having access to the internet is that it can be addictive and this results in a person always spending their time on the internet rather than doing other things that can benefit their health and life. Another con that could also be consider a pro is social media and the press. It seems like bullying is more common on the internet because the bully is able to hide behind their screen so they can say pretty much whatever they want without any repercussions. I think that schools should definitely be aloud to keep tabs on a student's social media, but there should be rules so no one is being taken advantage of. The school should only keep tabs on a student's social media if they are suspicious of bullying or if someone brings it to their attention. Bullying is not okay so if this will be an effective way to stop it then I say that it is a good idea. I also think that it is important that schools monitor what is being searched because without this, students could waste their time looking at pointless things or they could also use the internet to cheat on their assignments so having restrictions will ensure that students cannot access these sights while at Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Essay on Pros and Cons of Social Media The more social media we have, the more we think we're connecting, yet we're really disconnecting from each other. Communication is a crucial part of the human life when it comes to interacting and progressing our society. Ever since the beginning of as much as we can remember, we've communicated in many forms such as body language, sign language and written language. Nowadays, we've taken socializing to a whole new level. We've constructed a form of typed language with the given name, social networking. There are endless social media sites that make it obtainable to connect between various amounts of people. In consideration of the ability that people can interact through social media, most people own an account for engaging. Granting all...show more content... Social networking makes keeping in touch with a vast circle of friends easier. Anyone can send personal emails and letters to individuals, or post a simple message for everyone to see at once. They can let everyone know where they are, what they're doing and how they're feeling, and it only takes a few seconds. The most genuine complication of social media is addiction. A reporter on Salem health characterized that text messaging is no longer the biggest teenage obsession, and enormous phone bills from lengthy phone calls are no longer the biggest doubts for parents. These teenage addictions still remain, but in our generation and in analogy to the Facebook mania, it's quite insignificant. Facebook addiction is advised to be a disorder driven by a craving. Not being able to access Facebook creates anxiety among fanatics. It is one of the most prominent social networking sites and has over one billion users without exception. People detach themselves from family and friends. Further symptoms of Facebook addiction have been related with needy sleep patterns. Researchers have also attempted to evaluate certain personality traits to the obsession. Being in touch with friends and family might clarify the logic why people are unreasonably obsessed. • 8. Essay On Pro Abortion Pro–Abortion Maxx Szucs Social Studies/English Mr. Eller/Mrs. Baumgartner 11/10/16 Pro–Abortion About 20 million, out of 45 million, abortions are medically unsafe and can lead to serious injury or death to mothers (Ojeda 13). Illegalizing abortion would bring up the number of medically unsafe abortions. People say abortions should be illegal to stop the killing of unborn babies. The mothers are the ones who really get to decide if they want to be pregnant for nine months or if they want to get rid of the baby that may have been caused by rape, broken condom, or many other reasons. Many bad events could happen if abortion became illegal. The government should make sure that abortion stays legal. Many people believe that abortion should stay legal so that women have reproductive choice("Should Abortion be Legal"). Others believe that abortion is wrong because it kills innocent babies. Abortion should be up to the women who will have to carry that baby around for nine months whether they want to keep the baby or not. Many abortions take place because the baby might be born without a good home, or the pregnancy was caused by rape, or many other reasons. Most abortions do not just happen for a random reason. • 9. Pro Assisted Suicide Essay Death With Dignity Today, American society is obsessed with the young and successful and their endless pursuit of beauty, fame, and fortune. People are bombarded with images of youth in movies, music, and ads for ordinary items such as toothpaste. Advertisers create the illusion that people can forever defer death by plastering ?anti–aging? across drugstore aisles to sell their products. In the search for eternal youth, people become desensitized to the importance of life?s inevitable end. Every day, countless people quietly pass away after long and painful struggles with terminal illnesses, and their loved ones are often reduced to helpless observers. Terminally ill patients are not merely a statistic; they are mothers,...show more content... The law allows physicians to prescribe drugs to terminally ill patients who request to end their lives. Attorney General John Ashcroft attempted to invalidate the Oregon Death with Dignity Act in 2001, and the judicial system met his requests with multiple restraining orders. Ashcroft subsequently appealed to the Supreme Court, and the justices voted to uphold the law in January 2006. Ashcroft?s actions sparked public disapproval because a majority of the American public approved of the statute at the time. In early 2002, a poll indicated that only 35% of people approved of his actions while 58% disapproved of them (The Harris Poll 2002). Due to the strength of the Oregon Death with Dignity Act?s provisions, no people have reported abuses or mis–diagnoses since its implementation (Oregon Department of Human Services Report, 1994–2005). Explaining the Oregon Death with Dignity Act to the national level will remedy the controversy of assisted suicide by providing an option for terminally ill patients, implementing adequate safeguards against abuse, and protecting physicians against wrongful prosecution. Despite the common assertion that assisted suicide is immoral and unnecessary under any circumstances, people suffering from terminal illnesses desperately need options. We must annex territory otherwise it is in jeopardy of Spanish colonial rule. If we do not annex foreign land someone else will. Cuba is our neighbor. It is a stone's throw away from the State of Florida. Is it right to ignore the plight of the people of Cuba? They have been fighting for their freedom and independence almost continuously since 1878. The Spanish Empire has committed many unspeakable acts on this island since the fighting began. The Spanish Empire is mistreating our neighbors in Cuba. It is well within our Monroe Doctrine tradition to ask that Spain give up the control of Cuba...show more content... Now, we're involved in a possible conflict with Spain. It is possible that we might engage in an epic naval battle with the Spanish fleet in the Philippines. Hawaiian Islands provide us with the perfect coal station for our Navy and supply ships on the way to the Philippines. It is in America's best interest to annex Hawaii as soon as possible. If we do not act quickly, the British might annex Hawaii. There's no time to waste. The Filipinos have been fighting against the Spanish rule for some time now. Are we going to help them achieve their independence from Spanish rule? If we deem that they'd be better of being independent, we will assist them. But, if we deem that they'd benefit from being annexed, we might go ahead and add the Philippines to our oversea possessions. Like with the Hawaiians, the Filipinos will benefit from the Christianization of their islands. With the influx of American values, cultures, and language, we will be doing any country annexed a favor by allowing them into our nations cultural and economic prosperity. Anti–Imperialism America must not be looking for monsters to slay in the world. I am worried that America might become an overbearing power to our Latin neighbors in the future with this precedence in Cuba. What about Hawaii and the Philippines? These island nations are not in the Western Hemisphere, and yet, we are looking into possible annexation. I am afraid that America's insatiable thirst for territories Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Pro Life "Be the change you wish to see in the world" is a great quote to live by because it guides you to help others and make an impact. I use this quote to guide my life personally because I want to be able to use what I believe in, and my goals to make a change. Abortion is a very common debate in the world, and it has been this way for hundreds of years. There are two main arguments when it comes to abortion, most people are either Pro Life or Pro Choice. People that are pro life are against abortions and believe that every human life has equal worth and should have the opportunity to live. While people who are pro choice believe that women should have the choice to decide if they wanted to keep the child that they had growing inside of them or if she wants to terminate the pregnancy. I am pro life because I believe that abortions are used as a way out of something that people are in no hurry to try and prevent. I think that as a society we focus on sex as a thing that everyone does and that makes young adults think that they need to be joining what everyone is doing. This ends up creating a child that neither the mother nor the father are capable of taking care of, and the mother feels her only way out of the situation is to terminate the pregnancy in the form of an abortion. I want my impact on the world to be less of a...show more content... I also need to learn why young adults are so susceptible to peer pressure. • 12. Essay on The Pros and Cons of Globalization Globalization can be defined as the system of interaction among the countries of the world in order to develop the global economy. It also refers to the integration of economics and societies all over the world (http://hotbabefatchicks.hubpages.com/hub/Definition–of–Globalization). Globalization can be both advantageous and detrimental to developing countries. Some of its advantages are increased external finance, improved technology and political conformism. Disadvantages of globalization include death of small and medium businesses, loss of cultural identity and the effect of foreign policies on domestic economic development. Let us take a closer look at these consequences of globalization. Increased external finance: Globalization...show more content... They were also the first business to introduce 3G services in Nigeria. Now, Nigerians can communicate and network with people all over the world. Political conformism: With the increasing influence of foreign companies on developing countries' economies, governments of developing nations need to carefully consider the effect of their policies on foreign investors. As is well known, most developing countries practice different forms of autocratic or pseudo democratic forms of government that lord it over their populace (Mostert, 2003). Now, governments of these countries need to consider economic policies, tax forms and human rights decrees that will encourage foreign investors to come help develop their nation. This has helped alleviate lots of oppression that citizens of developing countries experience (Balakrishnan, 2004). Now, we examine a few disadvantages of globalization on developing nations. Death of small and medium businesses: The influx of global organizations into developing countries often results in stiff competition for local business (often small and medium scale businesses). Global organizations are armed with huge capital, advertisement strategies, sometimes higher quality and better product prices. This leaves smaller local businesses scrambling for crumbs of the market share and as a result, these SMEs crumble leaving scores of people jobless. For example in Nigeria, prior to the entry of foreign textile and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Argumentative Essay On Pro Globalization I am conflicted by the idea of advancing political, and economic globalization becoming more predominant in world affairs. As many critics, and supporters acknowledge, the notion of globalization has it's varying pros and cons, and claiming with certainty that the "good" outweighs the "bad", or visa versa, is questionable at best. Through my understanding of Tony Papard's, and Amelia Josephson's brief articles, I am going to advocate the argument calling for a halt, or decrease in globalization. Im intentionally attempting to look acrimonious towards pro–globalization, so I do not fall victim to my unsureness, and remain "on the fence" with this discussion. Take into account, I could have easily made the argument for pro–globalization just as readily. To outline a focus, I will be emphasizing on political, and economic elements of globalization that I determined to be the most problematic for nation–states; and additionally, the reason why globalization will not replace the nation–states as the primary entity for political expression. For a succinctly description of nation states, during better half of the 20th century, the nation–state, with it's clearly defined boarders has been the commanding source of political, and economic interaction. Nation–states provide the means to establish individual cultures, economies, and social system, appropriated to domestic demands of that territory. Its here where globalization begins to infringe on the nation–state. To Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Pros and Cons of Immigration Essay Pro/Con Illegal Immigration Picture a scenario where crowds of people surround you. You don't know who they are. Hundreds of people of all cultures, ethnicities, and genders pass by you. To you, they might seem like regular people trying to get from Point A to B. Therefore, you would not assume that they play a significant role in society. However, what if one person that passed by you today was an undocumented citizen in the United States? How would you be able to tell the difference? Everyone currently living in the Northern Hemisphere is an immigrant or a descendant of one. Far too often illegal immigration is generalized as a negative act in the world today. Despite that illegal immigration is less rationalized through the positive...show more content... Legal or illegal, we should all be granted the same opportunities in order to provide a substantial foundation for our families. Still, people are willing to risk their lives' to enter the United States. Some may succeed, while some will be unsuccessful and get deported back to their own country. They sacrifice everything in order to provide a sense of hope for their family. This is what the American Dream represents; being able to prosper, raise a family, and live the means of a good life. Illegal immigrants long for a day where their offspring will develop into a successful individual, rather than growing up in an environment of poverty and despair. Imagine your child working in the fields of Mexico only earning 50 to 60 pesos a day ($5–$6). He/she is planting crops under the blazing sun getting blisters on their feet. The heat consumes the dream and hopes they aspire. People experience many difficulties while seeing more than they desire. Although immigrants approach the U.S. longing for wealth, in reality wages are less than the average salary of Americans. Even so, immigrants gain strength to continue through the encouragement of their family. Another problem that arises often from this controversial matter is education. Parents, coaches, teachers, and counselors tell students to stay in school because it will eventually pay off in the long run. What would you do if your child was rejected from attending college and the chances of them becoming successful Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Pro Affirmative Action Essay Affirmative action is a policy or a program that seeks to redress past discrimination of minorities through active measures in order to ensure equal opportunity, as in education and employment. In other words, it is policy that was established to hopefully eliminate racial preference and equalize the United States. The fight against discrimination has been a long lasting one that started with the case of Plessy vs. Ferguson, which ended in the desegregation of all schools (Ficker). Affirmative action was put into place in 1965 when President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Executive Order that mandated government contractors to "take affirmative action" in all aspects of hiring and employing minorities (Brunner). Upon its arrival, the policy...show more content... The fact that, in most cases, a minority student will get accepted over a white student with the same or almost the same qualifications is causing controversy all over the nation. This is precisely the definition of affirmative action. In an excerpt titled Affirmative Action and the College Admissions Process from the book, 8 Steps to Help Black Families Pay For College, by Thomas and Will LaVeist, it is stated that, "affirmative action is meant to level the playing field and ensure that schools and businesses are not intentionally discriminating against minority groups." This leveling of the playing field leads to the very broad generalization and misperception that the policy is allowing less–qualified minorities to take the place of the more–qualified whites. Two more cases that aroused much debate on the issue were the 2003 cases of Gratz vs. Bollinger and Grutter vs. Bollinger, in which two more–than–qualified students applied to the University of Michigan and were denied due to acceptance policies. The two women, Jennifer Gratz and Barbara Grutter, took their cases to the Supreme Court with the plea that the University of Michigan is "treating people differently based on skin color, and that is unconstitutional" (Mears). The university openly stated that they have a point system in their acceptance process in which students receive extra point if they are of minority status. • 16. Pro-Life Essay examples Pro–Life English I 1 Abortion, when the topic comes up, it is usually something people do not like to discuss. People may tend to avoid this issue for fear of offending or angering others but it is extremely important that the horrors of this brutal practice be addressed. During the years 1965–1996 over 515 million babies have been murdered, this is if you add the number of chemical and surgical abortions (www.rockforlife.org). This is what we need to understand: abortion kills and we need to know where it came from. The legalization of abortion started in Mississippi in the year 1966; it was used in the cases of rape. Then other states began to expand the use of abortion. For instance, if it was the case of rape, ...show more content... One way is called Partial Birth Abortion (D&X); it can kill babies up to thirty–two weeks old. The abortionist (murderer in this case) removes all of the baby from the mother except for the head, he then jab a pair of scissors in the back of the babies skull and then he uses a suction hose to suck out the babies brain. Then he uses forceps to crush the babies' skull and pull the rest of the babies' body out. Salt poisoning is also used, where salt is injected and the bay dies of convulsions due to salt poisoning (www.rockforlife.org). If they can say this is not murder, then what is? Abortion is not painless for the mother either. Over ninety–seven percent of women have reported feeling pain it is often described as intense, severe, or very severe. Abortion is also not without side effects. Complications such as bleeding, hemorrhaging, menstrual disturbances or inflammation of the reproductive organs. Sometimes abortion can cause damage to the uterus and make the woman infertile for the rest of her life. (Abortion some medical facts pamphlet.) Also if you are a women and have had an abortion you increase your chances of having breast cancer by fifty percent. Abortion has no good results in for the mother or the poor murdered baby. • 17. Essay Pro Euthanasia When someone is inevitably dying and in inexplicable pain is it really a crime to grant their wishes and end their suffering? As of right now euthanasia is illegal in many countries and is a very controversial topic. Is it compassion for the patient helping them in ending their life or murder? The doctor is not giving death as an option, it is the patients choice and even where it is legal there are many rules. Euthanasia should not be considered a crime because the patient is not being murdered; they are having their suffering end in a painless, humane way out of compassion for the patient and their family. Dr. Jack Kevorkian more commonly known as Dr. Death is greatly known for his opinion that euthanasia should be legalized and his work with patients seeking help. Dr. Kevorkian was said to have been involved with 130 suicides by patients who wanted to end their own lives (Nicol and Wylie 17). He had two machines he used to help the patients, one an injection and the other a mask, however both machines were operated by the patient and although Dr. Kevorkian was taken to court many times for these he was not convicted because the patient was in control. He was very careful as to not actually commit the act himself until he was contacted by Thomas Youk, a young with Lou Gheric's disease; Lou Gheric's disease is when the muscle stop working and eventually the patient chokes to death. Tom's condition prevented him from actually operating the machines and therefore Dr. Kevorkian decided that he would operate the machine himself because he cared greatly about all his patients and could not let Tom live in his constant fear (Nicol and Wylie 11). • 19. Pro Life And Pro Choice Essay Abortion policy has been shifting throughout American history as American views have simultaneously transitioned from more conservative to more liberal. Doctors, specifically regular physicians, have surprisingly guided the discussion surrounding abortion in the most influential way. Their power, in particular, their medical expertise, has allowed them to take hold of the issue and push against abortion from a medical stance. As a result of the change in traditionalistic views, the power the doctors held for a long time was taken by women, and abortion simultaneously became not an issue of health, but one questioning morality as well as a woman's right to choose: pro–life and pro–choice. In America, abortion policy has transitioned from an issue of health and morality to one of women's rights over time due to the power shifting from doctors to women as a result of modernization and the change in how Americans saw religion; this shift in turn impacting how the abortion issue's sides are defined and how the issue is argued. Nineteenth century America was one of orthodox views and traditional customs, abortion being among them. Abortion was seen as abnormal and taboo: it was not talked about, seen primarily as a religious and medical issue. As Callahan writes in Abortion: Law, Choice, and Morality, only "God has the right to take the life of the innocent; hence the direct killing of the innocent, without the authority of God, is always wrong" (310); however, Luker in The Get more content on HelpWriting.net
