The political framework that allows Art and
Architecture to happen.
In Egypt it was the ruler (Pharaoh) who
decided what was built – and paid for it.
Therefore great buildings happened.

This provides the resources for Art and
Architecture.
In Egypt they had a strong trading
economy and fertile land. There were
materials nearby or available in the region.
The agriculture provided for the population
With excess that could be traded.

This was the framework that enabled Art
and Architecture to prosper.
Egypt had a religious society therefore
temples were built. Pharaohs were Gods
so pyramids and monuments were built to
honour them.

This was the ability to make use of the available
material and work them into artefacts.
The Egyptians did not have the wheel until later.
It was difficult to quarry stone and transport it to
the building site. They were able to make bricks
and had the skilled craftsmen to construct large
buildings.
