Sustainability:
The ability to achieve continuing economic prosperity while protecting the natural
systems of the planet and providing a high quality of life for its people.
The San Diego Regional Sustainability Partnership is a consortium of the
region's businesses, organizations, governments, and academia. The intent
of the Partnership is to lead and promote practices to support sustainable
communities that are secure, economically prosperous, environmentally
responsible and healthy places in which to live and work.
Vision
We share the goal of establishing partnerships to advance policies, research, technologies, and programs
supporting a more sustainable San Diego region for all generations.
Our vision for a vibrant future includes the careful and intelligent use of resources; restoration and
preservation of the natural environment; and a higher quality of life.
Pledge and Commitment
We will help guide the San Diego region toward a sustainable future. We commit our participation and
support to the Partnership in this innovative approach to regional stewardship.

Educating and engaging the community in recycling, water use, waste reduction, and
wastewater programs, and eliminate emerging pollutants.
Clean Transportation
Promoting best practices in alternative energy to broaden advances needed in such areas as
alternative fuels, fuel efficiency, mass transit, and roads.

Promoting best practices to reduce water and energy use, foster renewable energy, and
distributed energy resources.
