• To assist eligible students who do not have the
resources to meet the costs of post-secondary
education
• To supplement (not to replace) the financial
resources that you and your family are expected
to contribute
• OSAP is a combination of loans and grants.
8. Who is Eligible?
• Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected
Person
• Ontario Resident
• Taking an OSAP approved program (course load
requirements).
• Have financial need
9. Who is Not Eligible
• Previously defaulted on an OSAP loan
• Have an outstanding loan overpayment
• Previously provided false information on an OSAP application
• Have not met the academic progress requirements
• Convicted of fraud or theft in relation to OSAP loans
• Have previously reported a significant variance of income on an OSAP
application
• Have previously filed for bankruptcy or a consolidation agreement AND
have OSAP as a creditor OR if OSAP funds would be seized to repay debts.
• If you are a resident of another province
• You are in receipt of government assistance that covers your post-
secondary costs
• You are in Stage 2 of the Repayment Assistance Program.
• You have adequate resources to cover your costs.

• OSAP Access Number: a unique identifier to
allow you to access your OSAP profile.
• To re-set your password, or if you have forgotten
your OAN, bring your government-issued photo
ID (Driver’s License, Passport, Health Card) &
Social Insurance Card to the Financial Aid
Office.
