Launching the news website 234NEXT.com in December of 2008 was the
culmination of 30 years in journalism in Africa, Asia and America. At
Timbuktu Media where I was then director and head of editorial strategy
234NEXT was the herald to the weekly NEXT on Sunday, which came two
months later in January of 2009. After six grueling months, a daily paper
version was on the streets. My supervisory and managerial role included all
aspects of hiring, motivating and developing news content and supervising
production of a staff of 200.
