Ι. Greeting and saying the aim:
1. Rhyme “Goodmorning…”.
2. The aim of our lesson is “Kyiv – the capital of our Motherland”. We'll
learn more about our capital and its sights. So, well done!
ΙI. Warm – up.
What month is it now? (It's March.)
You know that March in Ukraine is devoted to the greatest Ukrainian poet,
painter and writer Taras Shevchenko. He was one of the most prominent
Ukrainians. He wrote many poems and one of the most remarkable one is
“ The Testament”.
(One – two pupilsrecite the poem)
Dig my grave and raise my barrow
By the Dnieper-side
In Ukraina, my own land,
A fair land and wide.
I will lie and watch the cornfields,
Listen through the years
To the river voices roaring,
Roaring in my ears.
IΙI. Speaking.
1) Ukraine is a large and beautiful country. It has rivers, mountains, forests, cities
and towns. Let's see the pictures and match then with the descriptions. ( Ex. 2,
p. 114 )
2) The foreigners don'tknow much about Ukrainians and their character. They
don'thave enough information. Read what say and give your opinion on their
statements. ( Ex. 6, p. 115) Use the phrases from the list. ( The list is on the
blackboard)
