BUTUAN WAS ALREADY EXISTING AS EARLY AS 4TH
CENTURY
 ACCORDING TO Chinese Song Shi (history) people had
atrading relationship with Champa in the present day
South Vietnam as early as 10th century
It is where the first catholic Mass in the Philippines was
celebrated by Spaniards.
Located in the nortwestern part of the Agusan Valley
composed predominantly Cebuano, Butuanon and
Tagalog Speaking populace.
The entire Agusan area was formerly referred to as
Butuan until 1914 when the province was created.
Butuan recorded history spans for 1,683 years.
