2. Szkoła Podstawowa nr 9 im. Mikołaja Kopernika in Dzierżoniów
is a middle-sized school with 575 pupils aged from 7 to 15 in 25 classes (Years 1-8) located
a mountainous region in south-west Poland in Lower Silesia.
SP 9 Dzierżoniów is a place of work for 45 teachers.
3. The school provides education not only for students from Dzierżoniów, but from the nearest
villages too. All the classes learn English as a second language. From Year 7 students learn
German. From Year 4 we have sports classes with 10 PE lessons a week. Boys train football and
the girls - handball and gymnastics.
Our pupils come from different social levels and some of their families get subsistence from a
social welfare program.
4. Educational aims
Our graduates:
- are open to another cultures, languages and countries
- are confident and aware of the needs of today’s world
- know how helpful is foreign languages knowledge
- have the key competences developed enough to manage on another
educational level

Since 2005 SP 9 Dzierżoniów has been taking part in eTwinning program with plenty of
successful projects
