- 34. Expansion Plans Videocon plans to enter the insurance sector. The company is in talks with three French multinational insurance companies for a possible joint venture for the same. Planning to acquire South Korea’s third largest electronics manufacturer Daewoo Electronics. This acquisition would allow it to strengthen its presence in key markets including the US, Korea, Japan and the EU. Videocon plans to expand its activities in the oil and gas sector. It has recently bid for block in Egypt and is also exploring opportunities in the potential countries.
