Positive Psychology
It is about scientifically informed
perceptions on what makes the life
worth living. It focuses on aspects of
the human conditions that lead to
happiness, fulfillment & flourishing.
Positive Psychology Theory
Dr Martin Seligman known as the
Father of Positive Psychology. He
spent years developing a theory of
well-being he called PERMA model.
The model comprises 5 elements,
that create the foundation of a
flourishing life:
• Positive Emotions
• Engagement
• Relationships
• Meaning
• Accomplishments
Self Efficacy/Confidence
Self-efficacy refers to an individual's belief in his or
her capacity to execute behaviors necessary to produce
specific performance attainments . Self-efficacy
reflects confidence in the ability to exert control over
one's own motivation, behavior, and social
environment
Optimism
It is a major construct in positive psychology. There is
a positive impact of optimism on physical and
psychological health which leads to academic, athletic,
political and occupational success.
Hope
Snyder (1991) defines hope as “a positive
motivational state that is based on an interactively
derived sense of successful (a) agency (goal-oriented
energy) and (b) pathways (planning to meet goals).”
This meaning of hope consists of both the “willpower”
(agency) and the “way power” (pathways).
Psychological Capital(PSYCAP)
Synthesis of understanding organizational culture is the totality of values, symbols,
meanings, assumptions, and expectations that can provide solutions to the growing factors
outside the organization and able to be the glue for its members. Based on the typology
proposed by Etizoni organization, then Google including normative organization because all
members of the organization have the same vision with Google, which is trying to promote
innovation and passion to advance the organization become a leader in the world of dot-com.
While the type of corporate culture by Cameron and Quinn, Handy the prevailing corporate
culture at Google is People Culture.
The Art of Building a Positive Organizational
Behavior(Individual Level)

• Cater to the professional & personal needs of
the employees
• Recognize effort
• Treat employees equally across divisions
• Make the employees see the big picture
• Build the culture by emphasizing omn things
such as the humble beginning of the
company & its founders.

A positive attitude and psychology in the
workplace helps employees to accomplish
tasks faster and in a better manner. The
performance of employees to a great extent
depends on the good relationship they share
with their colleagues. A good relationship
can be established only when employees
demonstrate a positive attitude & thinking
towards their work and colleagues.
Through positive energy, work becomes a
pleasure and employees find it easier to
achieve their goals. a positive attitude at
work is beneficial not only to the
organization, but also to the employees on an
individual basis.

Self-efficacy reflects confidence in the ability to exert control over one's own motivation, behavior, and social environment Optimism It is a major construct in positive psychology. There is a positive impact of optimism on physical and psychological health which leads to academic, athletic, political and occupational success. Hope Snyder (1991) defines hope as “a positive motivational state that is based on an interactively derived sense of successful (a) agency (goal-oriented energy) and (b) pathways (planning to meet goals).” This meaning of hope consists of both the “willpower” (agency) and the “way power” (pathways).
