A review of eLearning initiatives carried out across the
world for underprivileged children and youth.
War Child International is the union of War
Child Holland, War Child United Kingdom and War Child Canada,
working across the world to support children affected by armed
conflict. War Child uses three integrated programming themes:
1. Psychosocial Support, 2. Education, and 3. Child Protection to
support children affected by arm conflict.

Hole In The Wall
Hole-in-the-Wall Education Limited (HiWEL) is a
subsidiary of NIIT Limited. Hole-in-the-Wall is a path breaking
learning methodology conceived by Dr. Sugata Mitra, Chief
Scientist at NIIT. It is a ‘Shared Blackboard’ which children in
underprivileged communities can collectively own and access, to
express themselves, to learn, to explore together, and at some
stage to even brainstorm and come up with exciting ideas.

WEMA Centre has a 19 year experience working
with disadvantaged young people, street children and extremely
poor youth. WEMA is using a modified and refurbished Bus
equipped with computers as a Mobile Computer School named
as “DreamCatcher” that street children and youth are accessing.

“Ex-Street Children Community Organization”
(ECCO) at Aldort town in Nairobi Kenya, aims to provide street
children with a platform that enables them to share ideas with each
other and communicate with rest of the society. It provides children
with basic computer skills and enables children to take part in
society & give them a voice.

- Using ten computers donated by well-wishers,
ECCO has come up with ‘drop in’ centers where street children

Accord Charitable Trust (ACT) is a non-
governmental, non-profit organization, registered in Chennai,
India dedicated to addressing rural children development, their
education and to build sustainable, healthy and productive
communities aiming at dignified life through various outreach

About Accord
Northern Bohol
A purchase of 80 used computers from Adamson University in
Manila at giveaway prices gave a start to a Community Information
Center project that aimed to provide access to education and

underprivileged remote rural communities in Bohol, Philippines.
