We couldn’t help feeling that the
industry we love had lost its mojo.
A trip to high street opticians left
us feeling more like a number than
an individual. Uninspiring, strangely
similar frame designs stared out
from white walls. The hard sell was
overpowering and unhelpful. The
experience was crying out for the
personal touch of the good-old days,
shaken up with a fresh twist for today.
So, we gathered together the
industry’s forward thinkers, set
about creating our wish-list optician
experience… and KITE took off.

SUMMARY
JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a exciting, sparky,
presentable and clever marketing
executive to join our exciting
new startup. Your role will cover
marketing across social media, local
and online marketing. You will be
fantastic with people, someone who can
instantly build impact face to face.
You will be tasked with growing sales
in our online and retail stores.
You will do this by a combination of
engaging locally as well as driving
social media activity.
Being a startup, we have very limited
budgets. You will need to be super
creative and look to maximise ROI
through campaigns.
You will work with our founders from
a creative perspective. Two of our
founders have a design agency, thus
you will be able to tap into this
resource for any design work.

RESPONSIBILITIES
YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
• All aspects of local marketing - working
and building local relationships with local
businesses, GP Surgery’s, publications and VIPs.
• Creating and driving campaign strategy
execution across online, social and instore.
Working with founder team.
• Writing blog pieces.
• Managing social feeds - facebook,
twitter, instagram.
• Managing email lists, database and
newsletter.
• Managing events and special stuff - blogger
events, social detonators, fashion shoots,
interviews and write-ups.
• Website appearance and managing any tweaks.
• Customer flow in the website using google
analytics.
• Instore POS & any 4-walls marketing.
• Monitoring and responding to feedback.

SUPERSTAR
OUR IDEAL MARKETING EXEC WILL BE:
• A creative thinker that has substance behind
the thinking. Resourceful to get stuff done and
maximise on ROI.
• Previous successful marketing experience
across social media and local marketing
• Excitable individual that is Fun to be around
& is fantastic with people. You will be able to
instantly build rapport and create evangelists
of KITE.
• Great at building relationships with local
businesses, GPs and individuals.
• Completely at ease with all the techy stuff -
photoshop, google analytics, Facebook, twitter,
Instagram, Pinterest & willingness/technical
ability to learn.
• Organised and able to work to deadlines,
doesnt get flustered with a busy
environment.
• A copy writing jedi. Ability to adapt copy
style to different audiences - fashion, health,
business.

Your role will cover marketing across social media, local and online marketing. You will be fantastic with people, someone who can instantly build impact face to face. You will be tasked with growing sales in our online and retail stores. You will do this by a combination of engaging locally as well as driving social media activity. Being a startup, we have very limited budgets. You will need to be super creative and look to maximise ROI through campaigns. You will work with our founders from a creative perspective. Two of our founders have a design agency, thus you will be able to tap into this resource for any design work.

Working with founder team. • Writing blog pieces. • Managing social feeds - facebook, twitter, instagram. • Managing email lists, database and newsletter. • Managing events and special stuff - blogger events, social detonators, fashion shoots, interviews and write-ups. • Website appearance and managing any tweaks. • Customer flow in the website using google analytics. • Instore POS & any 4-walls marketing. • Monitoring and responding to feedback.
